Right here should be fine, this forum is for NON-Photography subjects, like electric motors, generators, Jokes, ukuleles, printer problems, should I upgrade my computer to Windows 11?, I lost my pocket knife, look what I found when I cleaned out my Garage, more Jokes, can anyone help me with my ............ . does anyone know what this is used for? this is my favorite music, My wife and I watched this movie last night. and on and on "chit-chat", I am having problems with my Ford Ranger too, I may post on that later The local Ford dealership has had my truck for almost a year unable to fix it so far.

Thanks for posting, My wife and I have never been to a Chipotle Restaurant but sure looks good, we eat avocados several times a week and make guac as a side when needed by adding some instant guac seasoning to mashed avocados it taste good but I am looking forward to trying the chipotle recipe soon, thanks for posting

I got a new LC braiser and then dug out my old Molly Stevens cookbook. I have never had a Boston Butt pork roast before. So I went to my locoal butcher to get a fresh one and not one that was prepackaged. That was after reading about how to buy pork in her cookbook. I have also never tied a roast before. The butcher gave me enough twine to do it. The flavor was very good and the meat was moist and tender. It was very good! I would make another one.

It looks great and tender, I don't have a "old Molly Stevens cookbook" right now, but I am going to check it out. I like to tie stuffed rolled roast too.

Last summer I took down a long section of barbed wire fence on our property. Later on I noticed that I was missing a small pocket knife that I always carry. It’s very small, closed it comes in at 2 ¾ inch. I liked it because it did almost all the jobs I needed it to do and it didn’t take up much room in my pocket.

I looked all around the house and in all our chairs – nothing. Then, I figured I might have lost it while kneeling down and unhooking all the strands of barbed wire from the T-posts.

After I had taken the fence down I mowed the grass and weeds short along the stretch where the fence had been. So, I went out and looked back and forth along that section several times finding nothing.

That section is along the edge of our property on the perimeter that I always walk with our dogs. Every time I walk them I go slow along there looking down, back and forth searching for the knife.

Today I did the same thing because the snow is gone, the grass is tamped down from the winter’s snow and hasn’t started to grow yet. I got about ¾ of the way through that area and stopped. Again, nothing. This time, I started to pray. I talk with God a lot but I had never actually taken the time to mention the knife. So I prayed something like this, “Lord, I know that little knife is pretty insignificant, but I really liked it, and if I lost it in this area, please help me to find it.” Simple, short.

I opened my eyes, took two steps, looked down and there it was off to my left about two feet away. It was rusted and open with the small blade out. Coincidence? I don’t think so!

Picture one is the fenceline.
Two is the Old Timer knife.
Three is it after cleaning it off.
Four is the Old Timer compared to the other one my grandfather had given me, yellow and though still small, it takes up a lot more room in my pocket.

Moral of the story – Always ask for God’s help FIRST, no matter how insignificant you think the problem might be.

Great story, thanks for sharing, I too am a believer and find it very normal to talk with God any time any anywhere about things great and small, I also have a 3 blade Old Timer I have with me always, long blade= food, middle blade=wood, small blade= wire stripping, battery terminal cleaning about anything except cutting cardboard. I think I have carried it about 53yrs now minus the occasional misplacement.

I had that Rooster he was a handsome guy, he took wonderful care of his girls, I am sure he died protecting them. Predators normally only kill what they eat, to have them free range in the daytime and locked up in the coop at night I was willing to lose one here and there, I could work with that, dogs are not predators they kill because they think its fun running chasing and catching them.

This simple soup is incredible, the flavor and the smell is wonderful and unforgettable. Enjoy,,, sometimes I have a bowl for a meal and then more for desert.

Cabbage and Beef Soup

Prep: 10 min. Cook: 70 min.
Makes
12 servings (3 quarts)
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
2 t salt to taste
2 t garlic minced
1 t pepper
2 celery ribs, chopped
2 cans (16 ounces) kidney beans, or black beans rinsed and drained
1/2 medium head cabbage, chopped or 1 package of shredded cabbage with carrots
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
3-1/2 c water
2 T wosheshrire sauce
2 bay leaf
4 t beef bouillon granules
Minced fresh parsley

Directions

- In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients except parsley.
- Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour. Garnish with parsley.
If Cooking for Two: Soup can be frozen in serving-size portions to enjoy months later.

When covid came I remember going to the store and finding that amongst many other things empty shelves and NO eggs, I can lots of things but I cannot make eggs, I eat eggs several times a week and I need them for baking so I bought 20 chickens, when they reached egg laying age we had more eggs than we could sell or eat, like all of a sudden everyone had chickens/eggs, so I pickeled eggs and gave them away, I took some with me when I went too the auto repair I gave eggs to everyone just to get rid of them, and also the food pantry, then we had a new neighbor move in down the street I never met them but one day when we were away their dog came over to visit and killed 10 of my chickens and next thing I knew they moved away. but now my egg problem went away.

Tom, during Covid, I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2, but I have discovered that, for me, the fat from butter does not raise my glucose levels. So, just try the bread with non-sugar jam and butter. --Richard

Thank you profbowman, There are many ways to make a starter #1 but not necessarily the best is to mix flour and water in a dish put cheesecloth over it, and let it sit, there is yeast in the air all around us and it will get into the flour water mixture and start bubbling and you can use that to make bread. The next way and probably the most common is to make your flour and water mixture and put a handful of grapes in the flour-water mixture do not wash the grapes first the yeast is on the skin of most the fruit and it will make a good starter, or the quickest is to just order some sourdough starter from King Arther Flour.
