That is one cool looking bug and you did a nice job capturing it. I wonder if it is an immature?
Thanks... I've been carrying it around in a pill bottle most of the day. I was in a customers office and it was crawling on the edge of their window, along with several stink bugs. ;) I captured it and brought it home. When I was ready to photograph it, I sat it in the fridge for 5 mins. He sat perfectly still while I was taking the pictures. When he started getting a bit more active, I stuck him back in the bottle. :)
I believe that's what this is. But I've never seen one with these markings.

I don't know how big they get, this one was just dime size.tom
Here's a photo of the critter that tried to take up residence in my boot. If I had to guess, the leg span was roughly 3-4"

I was told in my younger days that Ladybugs brought you good luck. Then I found out they bite, so what's so lucky about that? By the way nice shots!
Ladybugs bite? We used to let them crawl all over our hands as kids...never got bit once.

I would not want to wake up to it in my bed ...Great picture
We went to summer camp with the Boy Scouts. When we got up the next morning for breakfast, we got dressed. And as I was putting my boots on, my right boot just didn't feel right. Like it was a tighter fit than the night before when I took it off. I just shrugged it off as a different pair of socks, and figured it would loosen up after awhile. Well, just as we're about to head out of camp, I decided to check my boot again. Because...It just didn't feel right. So I undid the laces, took it off, gave the heel a whack with my hand, and out popped one of the biggest wolf spiders I've ever seen. He must have crawled in to the warm boot overnight, and my foot pushed him up into the tip. I didn't get bit, probably because he didn't have much room to move around. It sure gave me a scare though when this huge spider made his appearance. :D
Looks like he just got out of the shower. :)
That is one cool looking insect. Very nice.
We were at a restaurant this evening that had cotton candy on their dessert menu. So my son asked me to take a macro of it to see what it looks like. This is after he compressed it somewhat with his fingers. :)

I trust you didn't do any house wrecking in your pursuit of this little creature. ;)
Very nice shots. :)
A pretty good find, nevertheless :)
