Went out to macro insects while on vacation, but wound up shooting macros or near macros of a pigmy rattlesnake that had buried itself in the sand waiting for prey. I love Gulf Shores, Alabama
Excellent shots! The focal plane runs the entire length of the damselfly. Tough to do since they are so active.
I have the Sigma 150 for the greater working distance. Very sharp lens and very reasonably priced used.
Thanks! They're my favorite.
I really like exposing the personalities of jumping spiders.
Thank you Doc. I am glad you enjoyed and I appreciate your knowledge.
I got out on my last day of vacation and shot a variety of critters. It was great fun but it got hot!
Thank you! I didn't know close up existed! This section will be a much better fit than the macro section. That section is too stuffy.
Thank you! Where does close up stop and macro begin? Does the lens have to be focused to it's closest point?
Pics captured on the Big Piney river in early September. The population seemed down perhaps due to flooding.
On vacation and had the opportunity to shoot some dragonflys. I hope you enjoy.
That is a bald faced hornets nest. VERY dangerous in the summer months, but cold weather will kill off the occupants eventually. People like to keep the nests but soon find the whole thing is full of rotting larva and will stink for a long time
