Pics captured on the Big Piney river in early September. The population seemed down perhaps due to flooding.
Excellent captures for a frequently difficult subject.
Nice close-up photos. You need to get a bit closer for macro-photographs, even with a full-frame camera. Cropping a close-up to 1:1 proportions is also acceptable.

Thank you! Where does close up stop and macro begin? Does the lens have to be focused to it's closest point?

True macro means that the image in sensor is exactly the same size as subject. Your 150-mm macro lens will capture true macro at Minimum Focusing Distance (1:1 magnification).

Nice shots and interesting too.
Very good shots, entobob53!
Welcome to closeup, Bob! We're very happy to have anything from 'true' macro to closeups, so even though it looks like you were moved to this section, I hope you'll post here again. Very beautiful shots. The red ones are new to me.
Thank you! I didn't know close up existed! This section will be a much better fit than the macro section. That section is too stuffy.

LOL Then join us here. We're very glad to have you, and we're anything but stuffy.

Entobob53, I would just like to say that I think you have misjudged the macro section. All in that section are friendly, helpful and have great senses of humour. You have an excellent macro lens which will give you great macro and close-up shots. Both sections are super helpful and encouraging. I do hope you will consider using both.
