Along the same lines of "Not so Perfect Cameras" I took this shot back in 2010.

Simply called "Shadow Forest" it was taken while driving on the blue ridge parkway. Although this is a copy of a lost original, it was taken with.. Kodak easyshare M1903IS placed on the roof of our car. Setting the timer I then placed a red filter in front of the lens as indicated by the vignetting in the lower left and right.

And.. if you think that you camera can't take pictures.. then you're either trying to hard or you're not open to the camera's possibilities. I still think this is one of the best images taken with a cheap camera that I've drop nearly 50 times but it never survived.

If Canon has worked with you in the past then why give up on it now. You have a stockpile of lens so use that to your advantage. But the jump you're referring to is not that much of an upgrade. look and or invest in an "M" series camera with the support of the adapter and your lens. That setup would cost you less and be lighter to carry.

Good suggestion, but currently I'm unable to turn or twist the knobs/dials on the camera. Nor am I able to adjust anything on the small view screen. Currently, I've been allowing the camera to make the adjustment for me, until I get my new tethered tablet setup.

Quoting is not necessary as long as one simply uses the @ and users name.

Based on your comment and with really know the host of this company, I get the impression "they" want the RAW images and in turn not give the photographer the rights or credit he or she deserves. I would avoid this scam.

@asymptotic_maybe last word on this.. I think it best that we take this to another channel as the topic has went into a different direction. However, I'll not join the chit chat or open topic area simply because I will not ague with anyone over my comments or beliefs. Same holds true for my images, People have to overwhelming need to critique my images when I never ask for them to. It is what it is, the image you see is what you get. Finally, By no means am I and expert at anything.. but I do know a little bit about a lot and that gets me into trouble.

Horizontal horizons are usually expected unless there is some desired outcome or benefit. Though interesting, #1 isn't particularly sharp. The balance are rather dark on my monitor. The flying dot in the last is a distraction, even if it is not something on the sensor. That shot is one nearly every photographer has in his collection - particularly of they live or travel in the West. The trick is to find a point of difference from all the others. Monochrome is difficult - good luck as you move forward.

Understood.. and I don't believe I asked for a critique here. But let me point out something to those who feel their cameras are less than perfect.

This Image..

..was taken back in 2014 with.. a Fujifilm XP60 camera.. What?? You can't be serious.. Yes I'm serious. This camera was not known to have good image quality. A small rugged camera that has been dropped by me several times. Plus the camera was actually broken and I didn't use a tripod. So to anyone who thinks their camera can't take good pictures hasn't explored all of their camera's possibilities.

I wonder what or how this shot would turn out today if I used my new/refurbished M6.

First and foremost it's not the camera, it's what lens is used to achieve ones goals. For portrait shots, one should consider a least 85mm lens. if you have a crop sensor camera a 50mm with the crop would net you approx 82mm. Next would be the lighting. Seeing how I use natural light sources. best get your support from others whom have light setup in the homes or studios. Once you figure out the lens then what light source, move on to the actual camera. How heavy will it be, will one use a tripod (which would be suggested)

Try this one, should be easy enough:

Heartbeat Highway

Couple of things about tis pic:

1st) I stood in the middle of this road for 45 mins without any cars. it's called hearthbeat highway cause thats all you can hear. with an occasional dust devil of fin the distance.
2nd) the blur off to the left was a locust that photobombed.
3rd) and this one is important.. note the small dot off to the left.. the famous "Solitary Tree" I want to return to this locate in the future and setup for some morning/night long exposures.

Ok sorry had to throw in an abstract image there.. Promise I wont do it again.. Here's another one completed the other day:

Lighthouse Erie Harbor

If one is wounding why all the black and white images all of a sudden. The wife wants all the color images and took 90% of these in Raw so while converting the images (one I thought was dull drab) I converted it to Black and white and Bam.. The detail black and white brings out. Another reason.. I noticed on another site "other" photographers were stealing my ideas even my images.. One in fact took two of my pictures and combine them into one with a little photoshoping. (Hence no downloads) Converting to black & white makes it a bit harder for others to steal. Besides the black and white images is starting to grow on me. May just have to have a couple of prints done via Michaels in a few months.

Although My setup doesn't include several of the options this fellow has, Mine is a bit more complex than just a tripod. 2 Ball heads, and 1 tablet mount, Just waiting on the cable. I realize it's going to be heavy (to a point) about the only time I'm going to need it is for detailed shots or long exposures other wise the camera would be in hand.
