In the great days of the British Empire, a new commanding officer was sent to an African jungle outpost to relieve the retiring colonel.

After welcoming his replacement and showing the usual courtesies (gin and tonic, cucumber sandwiches etc) which protocol decrees, the retiring colonel said, "You must meet my Adjutant, Captain Smithers, He's my right-hand man and is really the strength of this office. His talent is simply boundless."

Smithers was summoned and introduced to the new CO, who was surprised to meet a hunchback, one eyed, toothless, hairless, scabbed and pockmarked specimen of humanity, a particularly unattractive man less than three feet tall. "Smithers, old man, tell your new CO about yourself."

''Well, sir, I graduated with the Sword of Honour from Sandhurst, joined the regiment and won the Military Cross and Bar after three expeditions behind enemy lines. I've represented Great Britain in equestrian events and won a Silver Medal in the horse riding part of the Olympics. I have researched the history of....."

At that point, the colonel interrupted, "Yes, yes, never mind that Smithers, he can find all that in your file. Tell him about the day you told the witch doctor to f**k off."

I did have one tiny hiccup - I could no longer right click on a file in Windows Explorer and select Photoshop as a program to open it with. AFter scratching my head for a bit I went into the registry and found this key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command\
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Photoshop.exe" %1"

It was set to open with Adobe Photoshop CC 2014. Since the installation removed the older version, and did not set the key to the new version, not only could I not right click and select PS, but it would not accept my attempts to manually associate jpeg files with the new Photoshop. Changing 2014 to 2015 fixed it.
I did have one tiny hiccup - I could no longer rig... (show quote)

When I tried to open a file from Windows Explorer, Photoshop showed a message saying ONCore9.dll is missing. I looked in the CC 2014 folder and 6 dll keys were there. I copied them and pasted them to the CC 2015 folder and it works now.

I am surprised they made you reinstall things. I've done this 3 times, from CS6 to CC, from CC to CC 2014, and just yesterday. Hmm . . .

I do apologize for my ignorance on this one. :) You were NOT wrong.

I done the same as you Gene51. Copy & pasted from 2014 plug-ins to 2015 plug-ins and have had no problems.

I take Viagra. I don't really need it but I'm a restless sleeper and it stops me rolling out of bed.

Tried it once - the pill stuck in my throat and I had a stiff neck for weeks!

Adobe has released a Creative Cloud Update 2015 including Lightroom and Photoshop
I am installing them now

Done mine.

The presets for Lightroom transfered with the update.

For Photoshop filters I had to go to Windows>Program Files>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CC 2014>Plug-ins. Copy the files & paste to 2015 Plug-ins. Worked: no problems.

This has happened to me a few times when using old files. Rather than rebooting and loosing all the work I'd done, I went to Image>Duplicate, to make a copy of the file. I was the able to convert and save it as I pleased.
Probably not the solution - but it worked
