I'm with you. Is it hand-held or what?? I have pre-ordered the upcoming Nikon B-700, that looks great on stats, on paper, And as a super-zoom, it will be a welcomed addition to my Photographic armamentarium. An array of gear that's already over-loaded with HEAVY stuff. I will be looking to see what posts you get in returns on this topic. RJM

No it was on a tripod and fully extended but you are not going to get great pictures at that length.Overall it gives great pictures and just as good as any digital camera I own.Fully extended is a bit of a gimmick but at shorter lengths it is very good.

Another example of the incredible Nikon P900.Both pictures taken from the same spot,In the first, beyond the black breakwater is a beach and in the second a closeup of the beach.

I try to be nice when posting here. So I'll agree nicely with your thread title. And some of the comments that support it.

I like to start these discussions to get the different points of view. Most people come up with reasoned replies-but some, if they don't agree , just post insults, maybe they don't have the wits to make a reasonable reply.

They are both great cameras and it is entirely personal preference.

I like thinking outside the box and as a consequence I get shouted at a lot so here is a chance to have another go.
I think photos taken with a cell phone should not be shown on this forum. They are not cameras and the operator needs to show minimum skill in using them.

It was inevitable that the US would top the Olympic medals with its huge size and great population but the UK a great deal smaller with a fraction of its population is very proud to be lying second ahead of China.b

Anyone got an IPad? A shared links column seems to have appeared and takes up 20percent of the page and is a nuisance.Anyone know how to delete it I would be grateful.

You have hit on my favourite photography hobby horse.Raw is not needed. No one can tell the difference between a fine JPG and a RAW photo and with Photoshop or Corel Paintshop Pro you can do as many adjustments as you can do in Raw, I know all the arguments,I used to use Raw myself but realised it was not necessary. I did a 12 months course on Corel and what you can do with this programme is incredible.
I remember the early arguments when digital started taking over from film and this is much the same.
Now the P900.Early days but I went out today and took some shots and the results were better than my D5300.
It is not perfect. On a sunny day the view finder is difficult as most electronic ones are. With the lens extended you must have a tripod.
The crunch comes tomorrow, I am doing an airshow.
I intend to put it on Continuous and roar away.Any half decent shots and I'll post them.
