Just wondering why we call it reform of fixing the immigration system. It is not broken, the problem is we are not enforcing the immigration laws. You cannot fix that which is not broken. Do not blame the Illegals, they are only here to improve their lot. Blame our leaders that are so frightened to be labeled politically incorrect that they cannot call an illegal an illegal, he becomes undocumented.
I wonder if the border had been enforced what the actual number of unemployed would be now, maybe only ten million as opposed to 25 million.

I really want to know this: Western governments and media need to make up their mind, and fast. Their hypocrisy can't fly anymore. Is insulting religion part of the freedom of speech that they brag about--as they always preach and hector to Muslims--or is insulting religion and religious groups something to be condemned and not tolerated and even banned by law? Because I really don't know the answer. I basically get the impression that insulting Islam and Muslims is always defended as part of Western freedom of speech while insulting Judaism and Jews is part of legally prohibited hate speech? This is why even hypocritical Islamists are more consistent than Western governments as they call for banning insults to ALL religions. But Western governments and media want to distinguish between insults to Islam and insults to Judaism as if we don't notice. Also, look at this: "French groups even went so far as to sue Google for allegedly promoting “unsolicited and systematic associations between famous people and their Jewishness” through the service’s auto-complete function, meaning that typing in the name of a famous figure occasionally yields the word “Jew” or “Jewish” among the suggested searches." Who are the "French groups"? Does that mean that any reference to the religion of any person is now not acceptable or is it only in relation to Jewish people? I just want to understand Western laws better.

PS Personally, I don't believe that Jews or Muslims should acquire any special legal status to shield them from criticisms or even insults, just as we communists and anarchists receive regular criticisms and insults. All criticisms and insults should be legal provided that the person who hurl the insults is willing to accept the consequences of his/her prejudice or bigotry.

17 cents a day here, then 20 cents a day there, so on and so on. Gosh everything at the 99 cents store is just 99 cents, try to walk out without spending twenty dollars. If we dissect all the taxes we pay and put a daily cost on them they will look incredibly small, now add them all back together and wow not so small anymore. I grew up with those Democrats and have recently jumped ship and gone Republican as the rest of them did. The Democrats I grew up with were hard working and did not have their hand stretched out to looking for freebies. We worked hard and when our party started distributing or earnings to the Lazy, we got smart and switched.

I live here in Southern Ca. One of the gateway states. I can truly say I have been approached by many asking for a handout and that not one of them were from Latin America. Be they legal or not they do not ask for a handout, they would rather sell you a bag of oranges or a Tamale. I respect these Proud hard working people. Perhaps we send those that bleed us dry through public assistance back in their place. Solve two problems at once.

I live in Los Angeles, right in the middle of what I call little Tijuana. I am well aware of our problem which is costing Citizens jobs. Several million Illegals in the workforce, most often as day labor or under the table employees. The Immigration system is fine, Border enforcement is poor at best. One cannot put blame on the Illegal aliens, They are just trying to improve their sort in life. I can however blame the Administrations, both local and national for not enforcing the law. Enforcement of Employment law would help, those unable to find gainful work would have to return to their own country to survive. I for one am damn tired of Political correctness ruling the country, an illegal is an illegal not an undocumented worker. I am tired of politicians such as Antonio Viaragossa, our Mayor, trying to make the city a Sanctuary City. Our elected Administrative officials are supposed to enforce the Law, not rewrite it. If you want to heal the economy then simply send the illegals home , there are more working illegals than there are unemployed.

The immigration system is well, it does not need healing. Employment Laws need to be enforced before our economy tanks completely.

The President was inaugurated 4 years ago, in this troubled time, in fact any time a president wins a second term the pomp should be eliminated. Why all the fanfare? He is already the president.
The inauguration may well be paid for by contributions, but what do those contributions cost the taxpayer? When the Wealthiest Americans reach into their corporate pockets and "GIVE" to the President do you really believe they are not buying influence, much the same as Lobbyist do in the halls of Congress.
Give me a break, use some reasoning. The main Plank of the Obama Campaign was " The Wealthiest Americans Have to pay their fair share". If that be the case then please explain why those Wealthy Americans supported him and are willing to spend millions on the Inauguration.
Just my thoughts, but often I feel not one of the Sheep.
