Alberio, I would highly recommend Tempe Imaging. They are the lab part of Tempe Camera. https://www.tempecamera.biz/

Look for Lab on the left side of the page.

Thanks Bob, I was hoping you would see this. We are in Quartzsite for a winter event. I wouldn't be able to do my own processing, as I don't have any chemicals or room to do it. Is there a place in Tempe or Phoenix area that can?

Very nice, alberio. Great to see you taking this step in your photographic adventure.

Film can be purchased from B and H. I'd recommend Ilford FP4+.

As for processing, you could do it yourself. However, contact me and I'll provide you with some pointers that will save you a good be of frustration.

Mostly new pics. It even came with a remote release cable and several 4x5 film holders and another focusing screen. Everything seems fully functional. Now to find film and a place to get it processed.

Another month another challenge from ShiftArt.Com . This month it's castles. My son and daughter in law were here for the Christmas holidays. So, I put my son to work as a "model. I also used one of the three kings from the naivety scene for the cape. I originally colored the cape but then changed my mind, and went with the white.

The only photographic "thing" I use my iPhone for is to run a program that nails exposure and processing. Otherwise, I use it for communication.

I am a longtime Samsung (android) user and currently have a Samsung Note 9 and an iPhone 12 for work. I have been using an iPhone now for several years for work and remember it was not intuitive or had a quick learning curve. I've heard about iPhone users using Android phones having the same issues. Steve Jobs, The Crazy ones was a genius from my point of view (not everyone), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtftHaK9tYY I think you will find many from both groups of users Android and iPhone. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were competitors and what I found most interesting is that Steve demanded total control over his computers and phones while Bill made his software available to all manufacturers of hardware, and Bill never successfully entered the phone market. What both have in common is the cameras on phones that continue to get better and have made photography mainstream in the world. I am guessing that there are more photographers in the world than at any time in history. Ok, yes it's not dedicated cameras but it is exciting. I've met first-time camera buyers who bought cameras because they wanted to get more than their phones could offer. I am hoping that the big camera makers are watching and planning to take seriously the competition of phone cameras by improving their offerings. What are your thoughts?

If Tony, or his wife, told me what time it was, I hope I would have an accurate watch to check for myself. Most of his stuff is a load of crap.

The first one may not load. If not, go to Youtube and ask for Tony Northrup, then scroll down to where it shows the program titled "Are Jpegs really worse?" There is a line at the bottom of the video where you can scroll to the parts you want. I think the discussion about Jpeg vs. RAW is interesting although a couple of other people have videos that rebuke the Northrups view of how this subject was presented this topic. In the same video though are discussions about f8 and turning off image stabilization when shooting from a tripod.

The other video I felt was very interesting. It listed lies (or partial truths) that camera mfgs. use in selling their products that can be very misleading. If you have to go to the Youtube menu again, key in Tony Northrup and scroll down to "5 lies Camera Companies Tell You". It seems all camera companies do this, so what can you believe?

Simply use this site's search function and type in
Abe's of Maine or
Abes of Main.

The best advice is to run away.

Has anyone shopped at Abe's? I heard they are not an authorized dealer but their prices are less for a lens than other online stores such as B&H, Hunts, etc.

"Natural History" published my photo/story of the story of Gosling Sandhill - a little Canada Goose gosling that was adopted by a Sandhill Crane family. This is the only documented case of Sandhills adopting a bird of another genus.
It was published last March, so I'm a little late in posting this!
