That the camera someone owns is much better than the owner as photographer. I wonder how do we know that? I am trying to figure out if my camera is better than I.

At least your camera won't lie, but you twist its output.

Hi, I do have some of the Topaz filters and have found that they work to interface in a more archaic manner than most, but they do work once you figure that out. You might start by buying just the one you think you'll use first. The company will send an email and will provide instructions once you click to download. The programs these days are set up to automatically load into programs like Photoshop and Lightroom, although a box might pop up asking if you want to do that. Once loaded, when using Lightroom, you click on your photo, go to Photo>Edit In and the Topaz plug in should show up. A box will pop up asking you what format, you can set that to TIF or JPG or PS, and then, on my setup which might be older version, I have to choose the actual Topaz program (I have three or four from Topaz) from another box and then the image opens up (realize that the image you are working on in Topaz at that point is a second, separate image unless you have chosen to work on the original image, which would not be the best choice), you do the work and then hit apply (if you want to do more stuff) or OK (if you are ready to save it and return to LR) and the new image will show up in your LR folder right next to the original image. This may be a bit simplified but is the process for the majority of plug-ins.
Hi, I do have some of the Topaz filters and have f... (show quote)

I believe during installation of the Topaz Lab, it will ask you if you want it to be used as a filter to PS and/or LR; if so, then it will install some pointers to the Plugin folder within your existing PS/LR folders.
Then you can select each Topaz functions through PS/Filters or LR/(Edit in photoFxlab).
Also the installation will generate a Topaz icon namely photoFxlab on your desktop to be used as standalone version. Whenever the Topaz function is used, a Tiff version of the original image is created which is very large size; the tiff version can be considered as the altered version of the raw file. The Topaz function can accept raw, tiff or jpg version of the image.
When you finish a Topaz function via pluggin, the LR will create/update with a new tiff version of your image file; the PS with create a new layer for your further editing. Or in all cases, a jpg is also an option per save-as of your work.
Topaz will make post processing much easier with lot of presets; I believe if you are savvy enough, you can do everything with PS/LR without Topaz.
I don't guarantee 100% accuracy of the above, but my experience with Topaz posts no problems.
Therefore, anyone is welcome to correct/clarify my above comments.

I got a 1TB Toshiba external hard drive for around $50. A lot cheaper than 15 64 GB SD cards and more reliable. You must not shoot a lot as I would fill more than one 64 GB SD card in a week of vacation and every 2-3 weeks at home.

I can't image one have to keep on swapping SD cards when viewing captures of previous years

No argument, but I know people who do mind blowing work on a cell phone. I assure you they are as serious as we lucky ones who can afford higher end equipment.A few shoot high end cameras too. Just another challenge.

I can't afford carrying an expensive smart phone in my pocket which is subjected to drop, stolen, misplaced, scratches.
I hate to see when my Dslr pictures are worse than other people's SP's but my SP pictures are worse than my Dslr's.
So I will keep on shooting Dslr.

OK, this is it, really end of discussion, no mas.

Street award winning photos were judged by capturing the moment.
http://100photos.time.com/
So smart phones should have an advantage, but not all time true.

But magazines photos(fashion, outdoor, motor etc) are taken with Dslr;

End of discussion. Final. no mas

that is right, no new arguments, but wrap-ups, and conclusions.
Is that any difference among the three?

I think using mSD chips has an advantage, which can be just inserted into your smartphone or tablet and view them; then I just need 1 256G and 1 16G mSD for my trip.
If I always use the 2 chips on my camera, there is less chance I will lose them.
I agree its is better to have better name brands as I have purchased some 16G & 32G no name brands, and transfer video files to it. Only about a few are usable even though it shows that the transfer is successful.

I use a 64 G SD class 10 to store my raw images(24mp) and a 32G Jpg on my D610.
If I plan to take a trip and do not want to carry two many chips, can I use this unknown brand 256G mSD which sells at $16
https://www.amazon.com/Designed-Smartphones-MicroSDXC-Compatible-R19-256LH-J3/dp/B07B2SKVV8/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1527544198&sr=1-6&keywords=256gb+micro+sd+card
I understand the risk could be too many eggs in one basket.
I would like to hear your experience of using mSD on camera and this kind of 256G mSD .

The conundrum....DSLR vs cell phone camera...is moot for me. IF the device does not say "NIKON" or "CANON", it's NOT a real camera. End of discussion. I have developed a zero tolerance for people who take pics with devices not specifically designed for photography. My zero tolerance went over the top when I went to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon little over a year ago. On that Thursday the place was overrun by Euros; they were everywhere like dirt; they did not care that I was setting up to take a shot. The following Sunday, back at the South Rim, this time the place was overrun with Orientals whose manners were equal to the Euros. By the way, one group on them on the Red Route bus irritated the driver to the point he stopped the bus and kicked them off! I avoid people who even look like they might want me to take their pic with their device. Even my daughters and granddaughter do not to ask. The older I get, the more I understand why seniors get cranky and crabby.
The conundrum....DSLR vs cell phone camera...is mo... (show quote)

You seems to like to generalize and degrade others who were on your way; obviously Euros and Asians are not yours liking of people. So there are only three other kinds of people that you likes besides American like yourself, S. Americans, Africans and Eskimos.
There are two types of tourists, one go by tour buses and another go at their own pace.
When I use my Dslr on a tripod, I will find a spot where others would not be on my way. Because I realize that I don't own the view and space in front of my camera, how can I blame other people who just like to do selfies in a few seconds. To those young people who use smartphones only, we old farts are obstructing the earth's revolution.

In my 2 cents, smart phones are good for quickies, selfies, good light conditions, but not for low light and artistic portraits and post processing.
SP are very good for taking videos on a stabilizing bar; I regret I spent almost a thousand for the Song S53 Camcorder which I hardly use.
I like to view my pictures on my 40" monitor which would show betters images shot by my Dslr. The pictures taken by smartphone usually look good on the phone screen and perhaps on Facebook.
However, Dslr shooter pays a higher toll as the equipment are bulky, heavy and set up time is much longer.

I always check Ebay items on Amazon which have rating and sometimes cheaper. I will check the final price including tax and shipping. Ebay have a lot of items shipped from China which usually takes 3 weeks.
I wonder if some of the Ebay sellers use smoke sites so that they can sell at higher price.

The version of Camera Raw from the official Adobe site does not support PS CS5.
But this one Camera Raw 6.1 would, why not give it a trial while it is free
