I've had good luck cleaning my own bodies with the Lenspen system from Amazon for about $60. Rocket blower first, then the Lenspen if needed. I've also used moist swabs for really hard to get off stuff.

Nothing to be afraid of, just make sure you have a fully charged battery when you put the mirror up in cleaning mode. And remember, the spots are in the reversed corner of the sensor. A dust spot in the upper left of your photo is on the lower right of the sensor. Good luck!

You might try renting a D610 and a lens you think you might want for a week, a small investment compared to the purchase. Some outfits like Lensrentals.com sell their equipment and will credit the rental to the purchase price if you like it. Win-win if it works out. Just a thought.

I've also got this lens and have tweaked a couple of the focal length ranges with the dock. Still a work in progress. The autofocus seems much faster than on the Sigma 18-250 I replaced. I concur with the others, you can only manually focus when it is in Manual mode. When doing tripod mounted HDR or panoramas, I'll use the autofocus to get close to what I want, then switch to Live View and manually focus, so nothing changes from shot to shot. It's a great walking around lens.

I've had a D7200 since the first day they hit the stores and it rocks! I had a D5200 which was producing very nice results bit this camera has better low light performance, faster and longer continuous shooting with a bigger buffer and pro-style controls that are much quicker to change than fooling around with menus. Unless I find a need someday to go full frame, it does all I'll ever need. I checked KEH today, they have like new condition for $1119. Not enough savings in my opinion to keep from buying new at this time. Good luck!

Welcome from another Texan and a part-time missionary to Nairobi, Kenya. I talk photography on the forums dedicated to that and wear my faith on my sleeve when I feel like it in the Christian Photography area. Take my advice and do the same, you'll get attacked far less often that way. Welcome aboard, brother!

My good friend and fellow wildlife photographer has the 7D Mark II and a 100-400 L lens and has a little faster continuous shooting and his shots are very sharp. I approach what he does with a collection of Sigma lenses and a D7200. Sure I'd swap, his stuff is worth about $1500 more than my investment! I'm not running out anytime soon and switching brands and investing in new glass, however. I also shoot a Canon SX-50 as a backup. Once you learn the different menu system, it's still a camera with the three ingredients of aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Everything else is icing on the cake. I still think the photographer has the most to do with it. My 2 cents.

I just checked KEH, they have them for $1119 in "like new" condition. I've bought lenses there before that I couldn't tell from new. For only an $80 difference, I would buy new. I got my D7200 from Precision Camera here in Austin the day they were available, but paid the tax and supported our local business because they are very helpful, offer many perks like free classes to camera buyers and have a good service department. Do I buy online (yes, KEH, B&H, Adorama and Amazon)but a brand new model and the possible risks made the brick and mortar store more comfortable in this case. Good luck, whatever you do.

Computer guy here. We've got maybe 50 upgrades under our belts at this point. Running the PC Check first is a good idea. You don't want to learn this lesson the hard way after a big download, and maybe a 2 hour intall process, only to find out your graphics card isn't supported yet and you need to revert to your old operating system. In my case, my own ASUS Ultrabook, about 2 years old, lost the webcam and the trackpad had limited functionality, even though it had many gestures available before. After about a week, software updates from Microsoft and ASUS cleared up both problems. You have until the end of June next year to do it for free, if you are concerned after running PC Check, I would wait a while and try again after the driver database is a little bigger. Once running, I like it a lot. For a complete redo, it's been reasonably solid on most machines so far, usually old hardware or software are at the bottom of issues. Good luck.
