What about using black velvet draped on table and up for background with a mirror placed on the table. Gives good reflective quality and mirrors the black off the background. I've used this several times and had good luck with it.

Sorry no photos to show.

I tried the Spider a while ago and had issues with the camera flopping around on my hip at times. I found a similar unit but it pretty much locks the camera to your body. They also have several different styles and the one your looking for is the "carry lite" for $139 or so. You can check it out here http://www.cottoncarrier.com/ I purchased both the two camera vest and the carry lite and swear by both.

Another plus is the safety strap for a second level of drop protection. This saved my bacon once when I slipped and the camera twisted out of my hand and ended up harmlessly swinging by my leg and not down the rock face.

I too have that problem but have solved it with the use of an elastic band around the flash unit. When I plug in the cord I simply flip the band over top to hold the connection tight. Works like a charm and the cost.... priceless.

High speed synch and lots of batteries...

Oh yes, a CP will not be of any use if you are shooting straight into/away or in the direction of the sun. It will be of use when 90° adjacent to the sun.

Good luck.

Very official and informative, thanks. Hopefully they respond although I have found a travel agent that can help with obtaining the permits and after initial proposal their prices seem very reasonable.

The biggest reason is that I plan on bringing the Gigapan Epic Pro which garners lots of interest from the authorities. It is not your regular camera gear as is expressed in the video found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=kfLH5_RWZH4

Guess I can't embed the video so just the link, <sigh>

What does Manual have to do with it?

Are you serious? The reason for covering the eye peice is so erroneous light doesn't change your automatic settings away from proper exposure. If you're on manual then no changes can be made to the exposure unless the photographer makes them. Yes, your meter will swing wildly but that is all it can do.

Why not print all three and price accordingly? Or at least offer all three formats. Why restrict yourself?

My wife and I are thinking of heading off to Machu Pichu this fall and I have read about some reports of guards hassling photographers that have lenses longer than 200 mm, medium to large format cameras, tripods, and anything they "think" might be professional. As we will be bringing a 70-200 with a GigaPan Epic Pro I would like to obtain a permit in advance. All claims say that you can't do it on site but it takes quite some time to acquire them. What they don't say, at least in English, is how to obtain said permits. Does anyone "KNOW" the answer?

Yes, I am aware that you had no problem with this issue and your feelings that I won't either. Regardless, I would like a permit. Thanks.

I might suggest moving the fill light further back (45° behind model) and knocking it down maybe ±1 stop to offer a more slimming effect.

In grid mode hover your mouse over the thumbnail and you will see, at the bottom left and right , a corner arrow. Click the one that suits your orientation. Or highlight all the shots you need to spin and then hit one of the arrows and they all go at the same time. Much faster than using the menu.

BUT!!! Let's not forget that occasionally a fine glass lens is included in a package that is considered a "kit" such as the Canon 24-105 L series lens. Certainly not plastic or cheap construction. I have seen a few folks here trying to pawn off this lens as a kit lens with out realizing it's true value simply because they got it as a kit package.

Moral: Not all kit lenses are created equal.

Try cropping the bottom half of the photo and turn it into a pano. I just re sized my browser window to accomplish the look and was quite happy with the result. Just a thought.
