Camera Strap Frustration

Anyone have a recommendation for a camera strap that does not contact the chest? Had 4 by-passes a few years back and they tied my chest back together with stainless steel wire. After about 30 minutes of walking around the strap against my chest becomes very uncomfortable. In the last 4 1/2 years I have tried many different brands without finding a comfortable one. A wrist strap is out of the question because of my poor circulation. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Buy a second camera and get the OpTech Double Sling strap. Nothing on the chest with that setup plus its inexpensive and extremely comfortable to wear all day. Or maybe hang a water bottle or something else from the other side. Even a single sling strap will lay across the chest so I doubt that will work for your situation.

Follow MTShooter's advice. I have the Op/Tech Double Sling (after he suggested it to me). I use it with my 7D plus 100-400 lens on one side and just a decent pair of birding binoculars off the other side. Even with the uneven weight distribution it works fine, although a better balance would be more comfortable for longer hauls.

Thank you MT Shooter. It looks like it might just be the solution I am looking for. Ordered it, now the anticipatory wait for it to arrive.

This is the most seductive argument for buying another camera I've ever heard!

This is the OpTech system Double Sling with a pair of D7000s on it, one with the 70-200mm F2.8 and one with the Sigma 150-500mm. The third body hangs from the Domke vest via OpTech connectors with a 24-70mm F2.8 mounted. The OpTech straps and quick-release buckles will handle whatever gear you throw at them.

Optech attaches to the camera strap lugs, at least the sling I looked at.
I used a Black Rapid sling, it attached to the tripod lug. I was uncomfortable with the weight of the body and heavy and expensive lens being carried by the tripod lug. Optech is 1 less expensive and 2 attaches to the strap lugs. MUCH better AND frees up the tripod lug for its intended purpose.
cheers

I agree. I have an optech single and I trust my camera on it...it's not going to break and it hangs just right on my hip.
