Nice pano! Do you fish upstream or downstream of the smelter? I'm glad to see your post, haven't seen a post from you in quite some time. (maybe just missing them)

Thanks Don, it doesn't matter where you fish now, nothing from the smelter goes into the river anymore, hasn't for over 10 years. Teck (smelter) has done an impressive job cleaning up there act and cleaning up from the past.
The reason I haven't had any posts in a while I haven't had any cameras, I lost over $17,000 worth of Nikon's in a house fire a little over a year ago and am just starting to rebuild my arsenal.
Have you ever been through Trail?

A pano I did on the banks of the Columbia River at Trail BC, 5 minute walk from home, good fishing in this river. Deep and fast, 4 miles from the 49th

Swede, my heart goes out to you. I wish was in a position to help. I can offer a suggestion. About 8 months ago, I purchased a 28~300 Nikkor. It's been the only lens on my camera for about 99% of the time. It covers the vast majority of my needs and is exceptionally sharp.

Hi All, well I’m starting to build a new arsenal after are our house fire. One of our members was more than generous by GIVING me a D700 (Thanks Thomas). Not really sure what lenses I want or need but I’ll explore any opportunity- I DON’T expect to get them for nothing. I am mostly interested in outdoor stuff, wildlife, scenic ect but if something catches my eye I’ll give it a go, see what comes of it.
Like I said tell me what you got and are trying to get rid of and I’ll consider it.
Thanks
Swede

That's painful to look at. Hopefully, the more important mementos were not lost and breathing creatures are safe and sound

All breathing things made it, couple fish in the aquariums didn't, along with 30+ years of negatives, but I scanned the ones I wanted and put them on a hard drive that made it, right beside my tower which was just a shell.
Thanks

If you read my last post and if you didn't I lost all my camera equipment in a fire (no insurance, D2x, D200,F5,F4S,801s-lenses(many))
Sticking with Nikon-where do I start again? Should I stick with a used 2x (which I know) or something alittle newer- lenses I know already what I want. Budget is limited-but flexible.
If you have any Nikon equipment you would like to sell run it by me (don't know if I'm suppose to do that here- Sorry).

Thanks to all that replied to the last post and to all remember "Back up- in many places"
The Passion has again taken it's hold.

Hey all thanks for all your comments kinda got the juices churning alittle more and maybe rekindle the fire (not the big one) but the bigger one- my pazsion for photography.
Now for something on the stupid side. These cameras were in a small garbage can inside a fence around the house, someone broke through the fence and took the garbage can and the cameras- any theories on why? They were no good for nothing.

Haven’t been around awhile, pretty much gave up on photography after our hose burnt down 6 months ago and took everything we owned with it. Here’s a picture of about $17,000 in Nikon’s. This included a D2x, D200, F5, F4s and a 801s can’t remember what the lens where but a couple 2.8’s, VR’s and some older ones. Also gone is all the other trinkets that go along with 25+ years of having a blast. Starting to get the itch back and to start all over. The lucky part of the fire was I had 90% of those 25 years of photos on an external hard drive which somehow made it and the computer didn’t, and they were right beside each other. Real bad thing everything uninsured, medical has kept me from working for over 2 years (just started going back) money was very tight and we decided we would rather eat than keep paying money on insurance which we never made a claim on in 15 years.
I just thought I’d share this with you and just remember this can happen to you. What I don’t need is any should of, could of, would of, because I’m pretty sure I’ve thought about them all and then some.
I also lost a 1918 Kodak View Camera that was in pristine condition.
Sorry about the picture it from the only camera I have now it it’s attached to a phone.
Thanks for your time

I know nothing about the photo agency. I enjoy hockey (a lot). However, in my opinion these "actors" are paid way too much. Whats even uglier is that this industry is controlled. The end result is pre-determined. In fact ALL the entertainment industry is a rip-off! ....and guess what, the general public is paying for all of this by purchasing products advertised during the games, this is the main source of revenue, TV rights! We have no choice, there are no options.

You are so right

Does anyone have an opinion about "Show My Photos" an on-line marketing site up here in Canada to sell your photos.
They charge 15% per sale- is this reasonable? Any other recommendations for similar sites.
Thanks
Swede
Does anyone miss the NHL??
