Hi All, well Im starting to build a new arsenal after are our house fire. One of our members was more than generous by GIVING me a D700 (Thanks Thomas). Not really sure what lenses I want or need but Ill explore any opportunity- I DONT expect to get them for nothing. I am mostly interested in outdoor stuff, wildlife, scenic ect but if something catches my eye Ill give it a go, see what comes of it.
Like I said tell me what you got and are trying to get rid of and Ill consider it.
Thanks

I have a 180mm F/2.8 AF (not the D version)
Will your home owners insurance cower any of it in Canada?
Sorry to hear of your loss Swede - hopefully all family members are safe?
Swede, your photo made me sick to my stomach. If I had a lens I no longer wanted I would give it to you. Wishing you good luck building a new kit. ;)

Swede, my heart goes out to you. I wish was in a position to help. I can offer a suggestion. About 8 months ago, I purchased a 28~300 Nikkor. It's been the only lens on my camera for about 99% of the time. It covers the vast majority of my needs and is exceptionally sharp.

Would you want a 28-80mm F/3.3-5.6. Not the best lens, but free....

I'm not familiar with B.C. insurance but here in N.S. all camera equipment is covered against all perils on the home insurance and if the camera or lens is not available anymore they have to upgrade you to the next best . For instance, if you were shooting a d7100 and something happened to it and it was no longer in production with no replacement in the dx series they would have to upgrade you to a full frame (lowest on the totem pole)but lets say you wanted a d800 all you would have to pay out of pocket would be the difference between the 600 and the 800

OMG. I am so sorry. I'll take a look at my lenses and see what I can part with. I hope your family is OK.
Wow....we went through a barn/garage fire 2 years ago. I can't imagine the pain of losing a house. Hopefully you had decent insurance coverage??? Anyway, I have an old tamron 28-105 2.8 lens that I was going to dump on ebay. It's not the greatest...it's old, there is some looseness...but if you want to cover the shipping you can have it.
