Does anyone have an opinion about "Show My Photos" an on-line marketing site up here in Canada to sell your photos.
They charge 15% per sale- is this reasonable? Any other recommendations for similar sites.
Thanks
Swede
Does anyone miss the NHL??

I know nothing about the photo agency. I enjoy hockey (a lot). However, in my opinion these "actors" are paid way too much. Whats even uglier is that this industry is controlled. The end result is pre-determined. In fact ALL the entertainment industry is a rip-off! ....and guess what, the general public is paying for all of this by purchasing products advertised during the games, this is the main source of revenue, TV rights! We have no choice, there are no options.

No. Will never watch another hockey game since watching the commisoner say on Real Sports he would do nothing to stop fighting in the "sport" because the fans like it. RS interviewed several enforcers who are hired whose sole purpose is payback and to maim. Concussions and suicide a real problem with those guys. Simple dedicated brutality. It's the owners and management that forces the players into the brutality, in a sport that can be magical to watch, the gliding and sliding into a nice turn - "He Shoots! He Scores!"

I used to watch Hockey Night in Canada when I lived in Newfoundland. Nothing else to watch with Canadian Content laws then. Actually grew to like watching the Montreal Canadiens with the Pocket Rocket and his skilled skating team mates. Great French names. Still.

You asked.

No - Have not watched hockey since the good old days of Foster Hewitt. Well maybe the Canada Russian series when Henderson was the flavour of the day.

As I've said before, if I want to see millionaires at play, I'll watch the Wall St crowd during their annual Central Park Picnic. (Actually, there is no annual picnic.)

Why in the world did you end your post with a question about Hockey? Now no one is answering the more important question about the photo agency. Geesh.

Are you trying out for Red Herring Champion of UHH? Your post has absolutely nothing to do with the OP's question, and has totally diverted the discussion to some idiotic irrelevancy.

Discussion here is often as much social as it is photographic. Thank goodness for that! It keeps the human touch in an electronic medium.

I have checked their website. It looks legitimate, but that's looks only. Their fee of 15% is certainly reasonable, others take up to 50% for the same service. Their program seems to be quite flexible because you can deal directly with the buyer or have the company produce prints etc. Might be worth a try. The site refers only to "professional photographers" so I don't know whether or not they have some means of qualifying eligible photographers. Probably worth reading everything on their site.
