Police in North Carolina arrested four people, including one juvenile, in connection with the death of a 17-year-old girl whose body was found in a parked car over the weekend.

The prime suspect accused of pulling the trigger and allegedly k*****g Veronica Baker at a Bojangles fast-food restaurant on Jones Sausage Road in Raleigh on Aug. 15 has been identified as 17-year-old Devin Cordell Jones, Raleigh police told ABC11.

Jones was taken into custody late on Tuesday. On Wednesday, police said he has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center on an undisclosed bond.

The three other suspects, also arrested on Tuesday, have been identified as Keyshara Michelle Deans, 19; Nezyiha Zamir Collins, 19; and Tyreek Qumay Rogers, 18.

Baker was reportedly found dead with gunshot wounds inside the front seat of her car with the engine still running. Police said they responded to an emergency call at about 8 p.m. on Aug. 15 after a passerby saw a girl lying inside her vehicle at a parking lot.

“There’s a car with the doors wide open and a girl is unresponsive,” the unidentified caller told a 911 dispatcher, according to the audio of the call that was shared on YouTube. “It doesn’t look like they’re breathing.” The caller added that he tried to move the girl and “shake her and everything else” but she didn’t respond.

The Raleigh teen graduated in June from Garner Magnet High School and was planning to attend online sociology classes at Wake Technical Community College this fall to continue her studies in business.

“Veronica was very close to her family, and shared a love of the great outdoors with them, making frequent camping trips together,” the fundraiser stated.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot defended the Chicago Police Department banning protesters from the block where she lives, citing her right to safety. The Democratic mayor said her family requires heightened security due to threats she receives, but did not elaborate.

“I think that residents of this city, understanding the nature of the threats that we are receiving on a daily basis, understand I have a right to make sure that my home is secure,” Lightfoot said, according to the Chicago Tribune.

After massive street protests, Chicago police banned protests near the mayor’s home. Officers were instructed to arrest anyone protesting near her Logan Square residence.

An NBA photographer is out of a job after sharing a sexist meme that apparently mocked Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, CNN reports. The photog, Bill Baptist, posted a faux logo for the Democratic ticket that read, "Joe and the Hoe." Former WNBA Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes spotted the image and shared a screenshot of it on Facebook. "It's amazing how people will smile in your face but eventually their true colors will show," she wrote. "NBA and Houston Rockets he needs to GO!!! So disrespectful." He was indeed fired soon after.

"The photographer is an independent contractor and his services are no longer being used in Orlando," said an NBA rep in a short statement. KPRC reports that Baptist apologized, saying "I deeply regret posting on my Facebook page a phrase that I saw and copied from others as a sample of some people’s reactions to Biden's se******n of Senator Harris as his choice for VP. The phrase I posted does not reflect my personal views at all." Baptist has been escorted from the NBA bubble in Orlando, USA Today reports. He had been a photographer with the Houston Rockets for over 30 years.

A rape suspect who was released from jail in the wake of the c****av***s p******c, Ibrahim E. Bouaichi, went on to k**l the woman who had accused him, police in Virginia say.

On Wednesday, July 29, officers found a woman shot to death on S. Greenmount Drive. It was Alexandria's first homicide of the year. The victim was later identified as Karla Elizabeth Dominguez Gonzalez.

Gonzalez had testified against Bouaichi in Alexandria District Court in December. He was indicted on rape charges and jailed without bond.

Circuit Court Judge Nolan Dawkins released Bouaichi on $25,000 bond, ordering him not to leave his Maryland home unless meeting with his lawyers or court officials, The Washington Post reports. He was freed on April 9. Gonzalez was notified the same day, according to the Alexandria Sheriff's office.

On Wednesday, August 5, one week after Gonzalez was k**led, Alexandria police officers with the FBI's regional Violent Crimes Task Force spotted Bouaichi in Prince George's County, Maryland.

When authorities chased him, Bouaichi crashed the car he was driving. He was found inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Cities that decide to cut their police funding could be cutting their own supply lines, too.

That was the message a trucking executive carried to “Fox & Friends First” on Wednesday, and it’s something urban politicians — in the thrall of Black L***s M****r r****rs and a****a anarchists — should be seriously considering unless they think citizens can start growing their own food.

Because if it’s not safe for truckers to carry goods — they just might not do it. And trucking companies won’t be willing to risk the business.

“Our first priority is to support our drivers and their safety when they’re on the road,” Mike Kucharski, co-owner of Summit, Illinois-based JKC Trucking, told the Fox program.

“Defunding the police is a bad idea because when you’re on the road, you have — you’re for weeks and days at a time, driving 11 hours with valuable cargo, everybody wants to steal this.”

On the road, Kucharski said, “There’s no safe place. Violence is everywhere. So, if you’re going to be having valuable cargo and there’s going to be no police to rely on, who’s going to protect our drivers?

“The states that are going to defund the police, we’re not going to go to because we’re trying to avoid those states for safety reasons.”

It’s a message Kucharski has been trying to spread far and wide.

“These drivers have the right to refuse a load because they are worried about their own safety,” Kucharski told conservative, Wisconsin-based radio host Vicki McKenna in a June 30 interview, according to a JKC Trucking news release.

“If these drivers all refuse to go into these areas, the food supply chain collapses. There’s going to be no more essential goods. The people in these states are going to run out of food. Then there’s going to be complete chaos. I’d say 72 hours and that’s it. The party’s over.”

And it isn’t just the hot spots like Minneapolis, where the self-important city council has already v**ed to begin the process of dismantling the police department. Or New York, where l*****t Mayor Bill de Blasio and a l*****t city council are apparently more interested in painting the words “Black L***s M****r” on the street than protecting actual black lives with adequate police officers.

On Sunday, the New York Post reported the city has seen 777 shooting incidents this year — one more than in all of 2019. The incidents resulted in 942 k**led or wounded victims, the Post reported.

USA Today reported Friday that police departments across the country are having funding slashed as a result of the “defund the police” movement and the toll the c****av***s crisis has taken on local government budgets.
