I have the 1.4 VII and the 2.0 vIII both in pristine condition...the pair for $350 I'll pay shipping.
I got into NPS when it was hard to get a Z9 and it worked like a charm. I ordered the Z180-600 as soon as I could after the announcement, albeit a little "late" compared to those who got in right at the start. Even so, as soon as B&H got their order from Nikon mine was being shipped...should arrive after the weekend. Well, I'm a happy camper so far, of course, fantasizing about the different configurations re. my bodies, haha. I'm in week six after a reverse shoulder replacement on my left shoulder (I'm right handed, luckily) and things are healing nicely. So now I'm thinking about how I'm going to use this beast...gimble 'on' for some surfing; with the lens hooked to my Z50 to start! Heh...
Oh no! I've not been keeping up lately and this thread was the first I knew about Bob's passing. RIP Bob, I've been a fan since my beginning on UHH.

I've been saying beware of Nikon for years. Seems finally people are listening.
...yah? Well, there are a whole lot of people who aren't, bucko.

I received a email saying my Nikon Z9 had a update for 4.01. I knew I just did 4.0. It also had a download file button. I thought this was odd. I looked on website and did not see and update for 4.01....
...yah, well I recieved the email from Nikon announcing the update, clicked on the link provided, proceeded to download the update (as I always do) into my 'puter. Then went through the details of what the update involved. It's mostly vid stuff so I saw no hurry to actually do it. <shrug> I think it's a good update, what's your issue?

A marvelous capture for a guy that doesn’t do sunsets😏😏👍👍👍
...haha, well, I take what I'm given sometimes, too. Thanks Larry!
...been laid-up getting a new shoulder, but the weekend before I went in I managed to get out to one of my fave spots, the Huntington Beach Pier. Oddly, I was there at a time I normally wouldn't be, right at sunset ('cuz I don't do sunsets, lol). What you're seeing here, other than an inversion layer cutting the orb off, are the container cranes at Los Angeles Harbor (San Pedro). Shooting at 400mm with a crop boost.

More shots of little things that I have taken around wherever I was. The hand holding the nut pod is that of my mom when she was still alive, about 95-years old here. A lifetime of work, caring, love, and generosity. A great hand!
Cooool stuff, Joe! LOVE the hand...been around for awhile!!!

FYI, I had an HP photo printer with five ink cartridges for years, and now have the Epson EcoTank ET 4850 printer with four ink tanks. I can’t tell any difference in photo print quality between the two.
...not a radical departure between the two, but if you bump up to the "pro" models you will definitely see a difference in the color palette.

AI is already useful. I use it to visit the alleys of 19th century London, ancient Greece and Rome, capture fairies on their home turf. I even got Jack the Ripper once.
...I'd love to see some of your AI work! Just yesterday I was chatting with a fellow photog at an art gallery where we both have work hanging; he showed me some of his that he's selling online...impressive stuff. We both agreed
it's not "photography" per se, but I've come to realize it has its place. AFA generative fill in PS, I've found it *quite* useful...been using it since the day it came out.
...have you investigated the vid capabilities of the Z8? Pretty freakin' good...like having a little RED in your kit.

Very good advice. Trouble is that a rental isn't an option where I live - out in the boonies.
...use the "Quote Reply" button.
Get your tripod out and make a test shot on a stable subject...then dismount the camera and shoot the subject again the old fashioned way, just like we used to before VR. Compare. Is it the f1.8? If so, it's great glass for an affordable price. Assuming you can shoot "the old fashioned way" and the test shot came out blurry, you might have a bad copy.
...I just use Beta for everything. Save as usual. When it's done it's done. I've even set my preferences for that in the external edit panel (that way when I right click to go to PS from LR it automatically goes to Beta). <shrug> No problems, if there *ever* is I'll just fall back to the newest PS I have on my 'puter.
