How I resolved the issue of Beta PS not working on my Win10 computer

Okay, here is how I resolved the issue of “generation fill” for my editing needs on the Adobe PS Beta. After being certain I have installed Beta correctly, I just moved the Adobe PS Beta onto the Desktop screen. I remind myself to open Adobe PS Beta—not PS. Once I have completed my work with Beta, I save the photo and then open it for specifics with PS. Agreed the edit won’t open as a RAW…only a JPG. For my needs, here is what I consider an excellent guide for using Beta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tG7dsM0hllA “NEW! Remove ANYTHING in Photoshop with AI and Generative Fill”. I’m not seeing all the photo choices she mentions because I suspect my Goggle Cloud won’t access all the specials I need from Cloud. At any rate, as I mentioned, I want results rather than living on my computer. When the generation fill becomes part of the next update on PS, I will just uninstall Beta. Thanks for ALL the suggestions I have received from UHH members!

Out of beta save as a PSD or TIF to avoid the issues of saving as a JPG.

Beta will for everything regular PS can do, why switch to regular PS.

fredpnm, Had not thought of saving my Betas as a PSD or TIF. Good idea.

...I just use Beta for everything. Save as usual. When it's done it's done. I've even set my preferences for that in the external edit panel (that way when I right click to go to PS from LR it automatically goes to Beta). <shrug> No problems, if there *ever* is I'll just fall back to the newest PS I have on my 'puter.

Beta is fun and can be very interesting. No criticism here of Adobe, but Beta to me means all bets are off: stability, crashes, losses, etc. are all part of the agreement to try and to evaluate. Your choice, but I choose not to work on serious stuff that way. OP approach sounds smart.

It’s also easy enough to set up two links in the external edit panel, one for regular PS, one for Beta.
