Scooter,
So sorry to hear that. I had made some small purchases("buy now" purchases, not bids) several years ago, and had bought a used version of Microsoft Office Professional last year. All good experiences, so considered purchasing a Canon SL2 DSLR on eBay. however, did a little research review wise on a Googled review, NOT on EBAY) and read several reviews in which Ebay did NOT stand behind the customer in getting what they want when wrong, inferior, or damaged merchandise was sent to the customer, so have decided NOT to take the chance with them again,(probably not ever) especially not on expensive merchandise. Thank you for sharing your experience, it just confirmed my resolve. I am sure there ARE honest people on there, however, if eBay is NOT willing to excerise good customer service, AND good business ethics, by helping the customer get truly get what they are purchasing,(and you know these scamming sellers probably know they are safe)or the honest sellers getting their money for their items as they should, I will NOT do business with them.
Oh, just to let you know, some of the reviews were from sellers, who also said Ebay does NOT stand behind them either, when a customer does not pay. So I don't think I would SELL anything on EBAY either.

Thank you for confirming my thoughts. Still learning, and not always confident that my thoughts may actually be correct.

Thank you Larry. That is what I thought, however just wanted to make sure, and not find out later for some reason I should have done both.

This is my first DSLR camera. When shooting, is it necessary to set it for BOTH raw and JPEG, or can I just set it for raw, then convert to JPEG after post processing in Photo Shop Elements 14? I'm thinking of the amount of space used on my SD card and in my computer storage, with raw vs. both.

I am new to this, so all advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Nice.
I like these. Are you using the miniature setting on your camera at all?

Wow, great to hear of sporting events that still honor veterans and the national anthem and our flag and veterans are treated with the respect due them.

I went to Yosemite in mid March of 3015.The weather was a beautiful sunny day low to mid seventies. Not much snow that year, a good amount of water in the waterfalls. I went again in April 2017, and there was still some snow on the mountains, and even some in the valley. Lots of water in the falls and rivers, which there probably will be when you go. May want to make sure to take a rain coat or poncho, and water protection for your camera, to be near the falls,( Especially at the Vista point for the Bridal Veil Falls, and a good 200 feet below that)as it is very wet. I wish I had known to do that. My camera survived okay, but I was pretty damp when I got back to my car. There was setting about the power of all that water thundering down that was exhilarating. I've always wanted to put it into a poem, and just could not put the experience into words, yet anyway. I took some photos of the waterfall and the rushing stream from it. I love the lighting in the photos, however the whites of the rapids were too overexposed,(that camera does not shoot in camera raw) so that was disappointing.

Maybe I'll post them later today anyway, to give you an idea of my experience.
