At one time or other, I owned quite a few of those old beauties shown! Excellent set!

These were known as mangle irons. Locally, a now defunct handkerchief manufacturer used these extensively to prepare for packaging.

Maybe related to the car model's name?

I have for sale a Nikon D610 camera body in excellent+ condition. Shutter clicks are 30,508. Candidly, I purchased this used online (either from Roberts or KEH, I can't remember which because of frequent purchases) about three years ago and according to its serial number it apparently is not a USA model. At purchase it had about 20,000 clicks on it. I have never had a single problem with it, however.

It has always been used gently and kept in a Domke F2 bag between uses. It comes from a smoke free and pet free home. Why is it being sold? Now in my 80’s, I find that I want to keep to my strictly AP-C sized bodies for their lighter weight and may try mirrorless.

Along with the camera body there is an original Nikon charger and battery, an unopened original D610 strap, and an unopened FX sensor cleaning kit. It also has a Nikon BM-14 LCD cover, Nikon body cap, generic hot shoe cap (seen installed in pics), and viewfinder cap. Sadly, I never received the box or original manual, but the manual can be downloaded from orphancameras.com, or other online sources including Nikon’s.

Asking $470 shipped to CONUS only. PayPal or check accepted (shipping delayed until check clears). PM please.

Addendum: Will include a couple 32GB memory cards.

After posting several B+W photos of classic autos recently, a few Hoggers commented on their preference for full color photos. For their benefit I present this collage of items from the era of brass as well as some hood ornaments.

My earliest cameras as a youth were several bakelite 127s and the Brownie Hawkeye and Brownie Bullet,. My first serious cameras were a series of YashicaMats and Mat124s. Then came the Miranda Sensomat, a Contax IIA, a long series of Minolta SRTs. and then Nikons of several series. When I sort of left film for digital I stayed with Nikons: D200, D7000, D7100, D600, D610, and D750. I was a serial upgrader all along, but I don't think at my age (80) I will be plunging into mirrorless Nikons.

Why in the world would you want to convert these to B/W? Color would be what they really are. So you insist on converting them, that brings up the question why didn't you put them where they belong in the B/W Section?

B/W is nice but color is nicer

First, the old slides were somewhat faded when they were first converted to files on the hard drives. Scanning them and leaving them in color would require more post production time than I thought they were worth.

Second, in the two to three decades since they were originally taken, I have shot more B+W exposures than color, so my predilection for that format was natural in dealing with these old pics.

Third, so many other fine auto show submissions are in color on UHH, that I thought B+W was a change.
