Again, cleaning up a couple of external drives, I found a few more older shots of car show entries. Scanned slides converted to B+W. A 1912 Stevens Duryea, a 1911 Locomobile, a 1932 Buick, and a 1938 Buick.
Here in southern New England the car show circuit will again pick up in May/June. As an 80 year old with 105 year old knees , I am hoping to visit a couple and grab some shots.

I do like these shots. B&W gives them a feeling of being there in the moment.

Wonderful shots! (I think you missed the Chrysler... or is the plate wrong?)

Yep, old age faux pas, I loaded the incorrect photo. Yes, it is a 1932 Chrysler depicted in the photo.
Why in the world would you want to convert these to B/W? Color would be what they really are. So you insist on converting them, that brings up the question why didn't you put them where they belong in the B/W Section?
B/W is nice but color is nicer

First, the old slides were somewhat faded when they were first converted to files on the hard drives. Scanning them and leaving them in color would require more post production time than I thought they were worth.
Second, in the two to three decades since they were originally taken, I have shot more B+W exposures than color, so my predilection for that format was natural in dealing with these old pics.
Third, so many other fine auto show submissions are in color on UHH, that I thought B+W was a change.
For answer #1 pardon my ignorance. It was a decision of time vs result and I agree with your decision
#2 Go with what you know and are most comfortable with
#3 But they are such fine photos of great autos but you are right most auto photos are color and they are a nice change. But they are such fine photos and great autos but your answer to #1 fits in here
I just like color over B/W except in lines, textures and shapes

I am ambivalent regarding color vs B&W. Both have their place and most of the time one or the other works better than the alternative. In this case I think B&W is just right.
Thank you to all who commented.

Very nice!! I love seeing old cars in B&W; it really brings out the beautiful lines and curves.
