I don't use cloud backup. I've heard too many bad stories. I use hard drives--3 copies of each, one at home, one at my wife's office, and one at my son's house.

The list certainly describes what I remember.

I have 24mm, 45mm, and 90mm canon TS lenses. The 45mm is the least used. I use them for landscapes for increased dof, for keeping sides of vertical features straight, and for for flowers. For flowers it is almost always the 90mm.

I use a mac with photoshop and lightroom subscribed to through Adobe for $10 per month. I highly recommend all 3 (mac, ps, and lr). The rental price is far cheaper than upgrades used to be and has the advantage that new features in both are immediately available. I back everything up on 2 external drives.

I much prefer the second image. There is no hint of detail in the building in the first image. The only thing I would change in the second image would be to slightly lighten the white lines on the road.

Before sunrise and sunrise behind the first large building on the right. I can't remember what the building is--museum maybe? Even when the sky looks black, long exposures reveal some great color.

I have 3 of the tilt-shift lenses. My main use of them is to tilt to get landscapes in reasonable focus when most of the foreground is reasonably flat. For panos I general rotate the camera, but sometimes use the shift (up/down) so the camera is level when doing the pano.

My son got the SX60 to take to Greece. It worked very well for him--great images.

At 76, I agree with all you are saying. Since I probably won't remember it, I'm going to copy it. Be well!

I have the II and it is one of the sharpest and most used lenses I own. I highly recommend it.

My 100-400 II is one of the sharpest lenses I own. It is hard to determine where you have focused in the images you submitted. If you are shooting at 400 you need fast shutter speeds.

I use the same aperture for each shot in a pano, but allow the shutter speed to change. Since I am almost always on a tripod, and the subject matter is seldom moving, that seems to work out ok. About the only time my camera is not on the tripod is when I am shooting from the car and using the window and bean bag as support.

I have been to YNP twice during 10 of the last 11 years. I use mostly zoom lenses. I use a 24--70 on full frame, 100--400 II on full frame, and 600 on cropped frame. Unless you want to crop a lot of images when you are processing them, I highly recommend zooms. I (almost) always mount my camera on a tripod when out of the car or on a beanbag on the window opening when shooting from the car. I also ocassionally use a 11--24 wide angle lens but that is rare.

If at all possible, I suggest getting a longer macro, especially if you plan to photograph insects. The longer lens lets you photograph more insects without scaring them off just as you are getting ready to trip the shutter. Nikon's 200mm macro is the best I have ever used. You might be able to find it used for an affordable price. The Sigma macros are also quite good. (I have used all the ones I am recommending.)
