If anyone is interested I have a 70-300mm L f4.5-5.6 IS Lens in excellent condition. Price is $925.00. I upgraded to the 100-400.

I also have the Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD Lens for Canon rarely used $450.00 and an excellent copy. It doesn’t work with the Canon R which I upgraded to.

Great feedback. Heard same about Paula Dean’s place. Z6+24-70 is definite. I have the 16-35 and thinking about this as well. Probably will take and carry around.
Am I spiting myself by not taking the 70-200 or 28-300? While I can keep lenses in my car; I’ld rather not. And will carry one on and one off. Suggestions?

I had the 24-105 and used the long end quite a bit. 70 may be a little short but I didn’t see a need for anything longer. Definitely the 16-35 on a full frame camera for the wide end I missed it a lot.

Thanks for the great feedback!
Definitely taking a trip to Tybee. Maybe dinner too. Wildlife Reserve on list. Bonaventure Cemetery a great suggestion--thanks! Fort Pulaski stop is included. I like the Beaufort suggestion. Particularly the Old Town and the Cypress Wetlands.
Idaho...been married for 43 years. No plans for another.
Bill, can you tell me about your trip? PM if you like.
VietVet from Brooklyn...did you go yet? And if you did, can you also share.
Thanks to all.
Jon

I did go for a few days. But stood around the main parts of historic Savannah. Beautiful park squares, 31 I believe. The architect and history are fantastic. A suggestion about eating is to stay away from Paula Deens restaurant “Lady and Sons” the food was awful. Southern cooking at its worst. What a disappointment and I got sick. I’ve got an iron stomach. Another problem was the sand gnats as my wife and brother in law were bitten up badly. We had a couple of days of on and off storms. The oak trees covered in Spanish moss are very picturesque and are everywhere. Bonadventure cemetery is a good choice another is Wormsloe Historic Park a short drive away. Be aware most businesses and eateries start late in the morning and close early in the evening. Definitely a slow pace. Did a few local tours that gave a great history lesson but not interesting for photographic purposes. Still all and all a good time. Alcoholic beverages are everywhere and open drinking in clear containers are allowed all around town. Unfortunately I do not drink but the others in my group did enjoy this aspect. I’ll post a few images in a day or so.

PS I took a 24-70 zoom with my as suggested by a friend. You will need a wider lens such as a 16-35. Next time!

Make sure to take a little time for a visit to the lemon grove in Sorrento. Sample the Lemoncillo from the nice Hungarian lady in the middle of the park.

The best lemoncellio in all of Italy. My daughter and son bring some home every time they go.

I’ve purchased from them in the distant past and had no problems. As Jerry stated the company was sold in the past and I noticed their (shall I say) strange and extremely low prices than started to hear the complaints. With all the great reputable company’s in business today it’s not worth taking a chance. I now purchase all my equipment from B&H. They are simply a fantastic company, a knowledgeable staff and a wonderful return policy. There are other companies as well but I have a love affair going with B&H. Visit their store in Manhattan and you too will fall in love with them.

I was one of the first purchasers back in the beginning. I paid &500.00 for the suite at the Javits center photo expo and that was a discounted price. Google had it for a time and issued it for free bud did no updates to the software. They than sold it to DXO and I believe they only did comparability updates for it. However it’s still a great program and at $59.00 a great bargain in my opinion. The b&w module alone is worth it. I don’t think you will be disappointed in this program.

This is a great lens for the money, I carried one all over Thailand a couple of years ago and was really happy with the compact size, light weight, versatility, reach and sharpness.

As soon as they make one that’s compatible with the EOS R I will purchase it again for sure.
