I have used ebay for years and never had a problem. I bought a Sigma 105mm macro from Roberts a few months ago for 400.00. decided I needed more reach so I bought a Tamron 180mm macro. sold the Sigma for 475.00 to a private buyer. Roberts sells a lot thru ebay.
I'll leave batteries in my camera and grip unless I don't plan on taking pics for a while. between my age and a bad back a while could be two weeks or two months. in that case I will take them out. I don't worry about them leaking, but they will drain. I remember times when I wanted to take a quick photo only to find my batteries drained.
I go by what actual owners say and not DxOmark. I'm not a pixel peeper or a pro. I know when I have a good lens or not. I like the lens and that's all that counts. nuff said.
I had the 17-70 and it's a nice lens for the piece but it's a f4 at 70mm. if you want a lens for low light I would look for a Sigma 50-100 f1.4. unless you need the wide end. if so the 17-50 is a great lens at a decent price.
I have one in my camera and one in my grip. that's all I have ever needed.
I have this lens as a walk around on my D7200 and love it, but it's not a true macro. I have a dedicated macro so I never really tried this lens for anything except some close ups. I guess you can get some extension tubes, but it will not take the place of a true macro.
I was raised in a time with no cell phones, no video games and not even cable or sat. tv. we had like four channels to pick from. I served and was wounded in Viet Nam. lots of political trouble in the U.S. but I still think it was a better time than now.
I have the Sigma 105 macro on my D7200 and it's a great lens. thinking of selling it for the 150. I had this lens a few years ago and the increase in working distance is awesome for insects. only problem is it's a big heavy lens, but the tri pod collar on a mono pod makes it easier to handle. actually, it's hard to find a bad macro lens.
really sucks. my problem is my back. had to down size my equipment for weight. would love this lens, but just too much weight.
right, like the sons of congress served in Viet Nam. there were a few, but they weren't drafted.
I have this lens and love it. took it over the Sigma for the extra 2mm of wide.
Romo is enjoying his success in the booth. why would he want to go back to being beaten up at his age.
a bargain at twice the price. I just paid 700.00 for an almost new D7200. not much difference. enjoy and thank the seller.
are your sure it's the lens and not the camera? I doubt you have the knowledge to do any repairs to either. you can find used equipment at KEH, E BAY Adorama, B&H, etc.
yeah, you can put it in P mode and probably get some good shots, but you won't learn much. start by reading the manual, then read it again. I realize that people hate reading manuals but your camera's manual will have very useful info on photography in general and not just how your camera works. lots of info on line but I would start with the manual.
