Yes, I'm jealous!! We drove through MV but did not see those "windows." Did you take a special guided tour? Very nice photography.

Yes Steve,
I don't think you can't get into the "Back Country" unless you hire a Navajo guide. My wife and I did a private tour with Majestic Monument Valley Tours in a Hummer. A lot better than the 16 passenge open truck ("Shake and Bake") which we have also done. They were excellent.

Hi All,
Just got back from Monument Valley (Hot and Hazy) and wanted to post a couple of images with the new D500. All shot using a Tokina 16-50 f2.8. Reasonably happy for the first go, particularly with the weather. Lots of haze (summer heat and AZ forest fires).

Thank you everyone. It definitely looks like upsizing before cropping results in a better image. At some point I would like to understand why ... But then again, that's really not necessary. I have always cropped the original, but if viewing/printing a larger image is in the plan, it looks like resizing first is better. Thanks again,
Dale

Robby, I haven't started a thread to show off my snap shots because who the heck would want to look at subpar work? Although I have been asked the very same Q as yours and provided some junk in pretty many threads.

The reason why I may sound "negative" often is because it is amazing to see some of the shots from people who have been shooting for decades. That in itself is fine, but that these same people post these snap shots as if they were fine art? What? Do they not see the difference between what the best produce and their own shots? I would be ashamed personally. But just for you, I put in my signature the Flickr link where I store all my snaps that I don't delete. Have a good laugh. You will see why I don't post many pictures.

PS: I frequent 500px and the FM forum to see good stuff.

The real question is why are the rest of us still reading his crap. 5 pages so far. Maybe it's entertaining, who knows. Just go to his page and read a few (or a lot if you want to) of his postings. All negative. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm done with this thread. I really don't understand the reason for all of the negativity. I post here to learn something from folks who might have had more or a different experience. I would have thought that there is a moderator to control the nastiness. On other sites I use (MG Experience for example) the moderator just closes this type of thread. I guess that's not the American way. Just go Trump on us :)

Having some difficulty getting my head around this. Did some searching but didn't find this particular issue. I'm wondering if there will be a difference in the quality of the image if one were to resize first (I use ON Resize) then crop out the unwanted or just crop the original. This first is my original image. #2 is a crop of that image. #3 is a crop of a resized (to 16 x 20). Nikon D500 with Nikon 200-500mm at 360mm. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks,
Dale

Thank you all for taking the time to look at my images. They were from a workshop I did with NatureWorkshop which was a lot of fun. Thanks again,

Seems like a lot of negativity on this site, but it's probably just a few folks. Just always surprises me.

No problems connecting D500 and Galaxy S7. It takes a bit for the connection to complete, but once it's up everything works great.

Same here, no problem connecting to a Galaxy S6. Did take a couple of tries but worked fine. Will not work with IOS until they come out with a Snapbridge for Apple.

Ditto on the Sony RX100. I've been using the M2 for several years. Excellent quality and nice size. Need to move up to the M4 but just got my D500 so better hold off for a while.
