Yosemite ... I know everybodys doing it but I can't help myself
It's been 11 years ago this month, one of the wettest on record (2005). Water everywhere ... all meadows flooded and falls where there had never been falls.

Thank you! It is a great place. Going that early in the season (I think it only opened the week before due to flooding) it wasn't that crowded.
Whoops, double posted or quoted or something. Thanks for the comments chase4

Sounds like a fantastic time. Hard to take a picture of a tree that big. That one reminded me of some large animal foot. Thanks.
I was just there last weekend and it was spectacular. Just enough water. Not flooded but enough that the falls were in their full robust glory. Unfortunately Mariposa Grove is going to be closed for a year or two while they completely revamp the a$rea. They're putting in new walking trails that are raised off the ground the protect the shallow root systems of the redwoods and there will be new parking areas. It's a $20 million remodel so it will be spectacular, I'm sure.
I love your two pictures of Half Dome. The sunset one is amazing. Also, the misty waterfall is breathtaking. Good work.
If anyone's interested I posted a few shots in the Gallery.

Wonderful series. I love the first two shots of the falls and the one of half dome. Then too, I really like the poppy. Guess I should just admit that I like them all.

I had seen your Yosemite shots, they were the ones that inspired me to post. Love that Pano of Half Dome, really brings in a lot of territory! I did get lucky on that sunset. It looked like it was going to be a "boring" evening but then the clouds moved in just in time. I still had my Nikon D2x back then otherwise couldn't have done that shot at the base of the falls. It was just like a rain storm. Had the camera under the rain jacket, pulled it out and got a couple of shots before it was too wet. I think back then they claimed it could handle 4 hrs in a light rain. I think this shot might be of Cook's meadow. You can see we had quite a lot of water.
Unfortunately, the first thing they did was abolish the tram ride. So STUPID! We took full loads of 45 passengers at a time almost every time. And the average ticket price was about 25 bucks per person. Plus tips. I never knew a job could be so much fun until I started working there. Plus in my nine years there are lead about 4500 tou Plus you're in my nine years there are lead about 4500 tours, yet I found something new every tour.
