Just an observation and question. Apple users seem to need a lot of support. Why is that? Everyone I know with a Mac or an iPhone seems to go to the Genius Bar at least a couple times a year. What is going on?

I’ve been to the Genius Bar exactly once in eight years. The telephone support I get is, almost all the time, because I have done something dumb.

I am an Apple guy. The support that you will get from them via a telephone call is amazing. I converted from windows two odd years ago and have never looked back. I now have 3 Apple machines in my house.
This is $200 over your budget, but is new and will come with all the support you need.

I agree completely. I'm still getting free support for all my Apple equipment even though they are all well past warranty.

Does this same advice apply to the camera battery? Should I discharge that one too? My camera batteries seem to be live for less and less time.

Thanks for the suggestion to reinstall the entire OS. The problem began before I upgraded to 10.13.3, so the tech didn't think a reinstall was necessary. It couldn't hurt, though, and I'm getting desperate now. Also, I'm not sure where you got the impression that the issue has been around for five months. I first had the problem in early January and reported it soon after. So, it has now been about five weeks. Sorry if I wasn't clear about that in an earlier post.

You were perfectly clear. I simply had a brain cramp. But even five weeks is a long time.

Since you're thoroughly backed up, why not do what someone suggested and reinstall the entire OS? But do it under Apple Tech Support supervision to avoid pitfalls. Or, ask Apple what is taking so long in engineering. Five months is ridiculous. I've never had a problem with support and they are still helping me with issues stemming from my own mistakes and my MacBook Pro is 4 years old. Apple is the best so stay on top of them.

I love playing with Dynamic Auto Painter. I have used that and a couple of other techniques to produce an "interesting" image. I'll take any feedback.

Would enjoy seeing the original without the special effects.

Thanks All, for the very kind comments.

The distracting tubing is a wrapped tube light around the pillar; the old barn in question is used for night parties and this is part of the lighting. It was stapled above where I could reach and I didn’t bring a ladder. I travel quite light when I’m either shooting a specific model commission or practicing for my traveling boudoir portraiture commissions; sometimes the two of us (photographer & model) can’t get around a particular challenge... but this is rare. 😉

The tubing was the main reason this portrait didn’t make the final series. Because I specialize in Natural Light & Natural Beauty, I decided not to fix this problem with some “architectural post-processing”.

Thanks again to those who appreciate the collaborative work in this shot; I will look through the other “nearly” shots and find one or two more to post.

Good pun on "post" processing!

Her breasts would spread and flatten if the top were removed. I like the allure of the lingerie.
