I could see this over the doorway on a glass window as one enters the synagogue for Shabbat services. Beautiful!
I have a complete lab (B&W, color) that I'm looking to give to a good home. If you are in or near northern NJ, let me know and we can set up to meet.
Same goes for anyone following this thread (trays, timer, Dichro 67, easels, even tons of paper)
Another inexpensive item to consider is the Apache waterproof cases that Harbor Freight sells. What I like is that that 1) it's waterproof, and made from impact resistant plastic 2) it has foam blocks you can cut to size, and 3) they come in 4 different sizes and Harbor Frieght always has 20% off coupons so you can get the biggest < $40.
I use one a small one for my astronomy lenses and I am now carrying my monolights in the big one. Much safter than a backpack or photobag, plus they look really cool :)
Ah this is too easy. Your need to look for "YOURNAME" and not your own name. Found it in around 10 seconds. I guess that's why I'm so smart :)
Abe's of Maine was but is no longer a reliable and responsible vendor. They are masters of bait and switch and their sales philosophy is "buyer beware".
I have visited their store in NJ and walked out after trying to find out if the lens I wanted was for the US market of an import "grey" model. When the salesman said "what does it matter", I realized this is not the place to buy. In addition, items that would normally be part of camera purchase (i.e battery, lens caps, etc.) were all extras and sold at inflated prices. The final straw was when one of the salesmen spoke negatively about me to his associate in a language he thought I didn't understand (but did as I learned it as a kid from my parents and grandparents), I fired back at him in that language and told him what I thought of him and his store.
Save your money and buy from a trustworthy local store, or if you prefer there's always ABC and KEH.
Not here to debate machines but in favor of HP is their SureView screen that provides for built-in visual privacy as well as sure Start (protects the machine at the BIOS level) and SureClick (addresses hacking when browsing). These are patented solutions and only HP can offer them
As to IBM selling their PC business to Lenovo, nothing new here. The Chinese were already building the machines before the sale and it gave IBM an injection of cash. ThinkPads are based on legacy hardware design but if they serve you well, then you should stick with them.
I worked for IBM and when I started, I was given the choice between a Mac and a Lenovo ThinkPad (or as we called it, a StinkPad). For some reason I still can't figure out, I chose the Lenovo. BIG mistake!
Slow boot up, loved to crash, and heavy as a truck. I was with them for 2 yrs and asked if I could move over to an Apple. Was told had to wait at least another yr so I went to HP. At least their notebook are solid and have some cool features.
I went from a 7000 to a 7200 2 yra ago. Glad I did and absolutely no regrets
You can have full confidence in Adorama as well as B&H, Cameta and KEH. I've bought cameras, lenses and flash equipment for all of these (mostly refurb) and all have performed perfectly. Just make sure you look at the category when buying used so you know the condition this item is. All 4 give honest appraisals.
This should be a new Darwin Awards category - Death by Selfie. And yes, it would improve the gene pool
The New Yer 5779 began Sunday at sundown. Shona Tovah to all!
The
only problem I've everf had was when I packed a monopod into my suitcase. When TSA scanned the bag, it got flagged (it was going in my carry-on bag) since the scanner thought it could be the barrel of a rifle. That led to a pat-down even though I had already gone through the metal detector. I should add I have TSA Prechek.
I bought this lens about 4 yrs back and it has become my primary lens (although I have a lot of prime lenses, etc.)For the last yr, my travel lenses are this one and the the Tamron 10-24mm. Together they cover 98% of the kinds of photos I take (landscape, family functions, aviation photos). I do use prime lenses for studio work (Nikon on my D7200) , but I'm sure the Tamrons would do a fine job as well
I would normally share this with my wife, but having seen the punch line, I've decide not to
