I am also happy with LR CC and will be happier when the familiar Import with more advanced features returns. I wouldn't let it stop you. You can still add keywords and apply lens correction presets in the new dumbed-down import, the main 2 things I require to keep my life on track. Good luck.

If the price is low, low, low, it's grey market merchandise at best. B&H, Adorama, KEH are just a few of the reputable dealers of REAL brand name camera that folks like here at the Hog. Good luck.

Looking at a 7100 or 7200 for my next body. What has your overall experience been like? Q-tips and alcohol for the contacts? Did cleaning them help?

I went to a D7200 from the D5200. You won't regret it if you follow me down that path. The only thing you will miss is the vari-angle screen. Get the highest speed SD card you can afford and it will almost never buffer out. Good luck.

I'm finding the organization very nice. It just edits images wherever it finds them and puts the edit-record file in the same folder. I just tried to edit a photo in my icloud folder and it worked great.

that means you can edit anywhere without taking the picture folder with you...

Thanks for the heads up. I do a lot of wildlife and continuous action shots, so I have lots of photos to cull after each shoot. Adobe recently screwed up the Import function and it was slow and clunky to begin with. I may follow you down that same path. Is there a free trial you can play with?

Oops, answered my own question. Yes and it looks very interesting...

The faster the better. I use the Sandisk Extreme Pro in both my D7200 and SX-50. High speed cards really make a difference in continuous shooting situations. I rarely fill the buffer anymore. Good luck.

Welcome aboard. I'd love to have your surroundings for some of my nature photography! Enjoy that D7100, it's a great camera.

I got a refurb SX-50 as a backup to my DSLR direct from Canon. It was only $179 and I can't tell the difference between this camera and a new one. Money well spent.

Have you tried resetting the camera to factory defaults? I'm a computer guy and have come to realize that modern cameras are really computers designed to take pictures. They get flaky like computers do. If the reset doesn't work, you probably have a mechanical problem that will require a repair or some long hard thinking about an upgrade to a new body. Good luck!

I have the D7200 and it would crap out after about 30 continuous shots with a 40MB/s SDHC card. I replaced it with a Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB card rated at 95 MB/s and it'll practically go all day with no slowdown. At least 100 shots before any buffering. Great for birds in flight, etc. If you get a D7200, buy the fastest card you can afford. You won't regret it. I get far more "keepers" than I did with a D5200, the faster processor, better low light performance and greatly improved AF system all help.

I went from the D5200 to the D7200 and it was a big jump in continuous speed action capability and the more pro like controls make it easier to make changes quickly. Not sure I would have moved up from a D7100 to a D7200, the D7100 is a very capable camera and didn't suddenly become a piece of junk just because there's a newer model with a few more features. One thing I did notice, when I got a much higher speed SDHC card, the improvement in the number an speed of continuous shots was dramatic. The bigger buffer of the D7200 helps, but I'm thinking money spent on fast memory cards is a good thing too. Enjoy your new toy!

I took the plunge and got a D7200 the day they arrived here in Austin. Moved up from a D5200, it was time, the better low light performance, pro-like controls, bigger buffer and faster continuous shooting did it for me. I can take or leave the wifi. You can do wifi with a dongle on a D7100, not sure about the D7000. I also like to get lots of use out of each piece of gear until it is second nature. You'll know when the need need for new features outweighs the cost.

You're getting a great camera. I shoot a Nikon D7200 but one of my buddies that I shoot wildlife with has it paired with a Canon 100-400 L series lens that is superb for birds in flight. That body has great continuous speed shooting and low light performance. My Nikon's AF system might have a slight edge according to reviews I've read. Glad for your new toy.
