Nice series. I also prefer the one with the muted background as it emphasizes the intricate lines of the mushrooms. It's especially inspiring to me that you used a kit lens and got these results. I have the D5600 that came with that same lens and it usually stays on my camera.

I recently started Ben Willmore's course (through Creativelive.com) and like it. It also comes with a downloadable workbook. I got it on sale (70% off). I think it probably goes on sale periodically. I also like Lightroom Queen (Victoria Bampton).

Those are beautiful. Just curious, are you using this with a dslr? If so,did you have to adapt it somehow to your camera?

My grandmother had one of those "thingies" with the green handle on the right for folding egg whites into her angel food cake batter. As a side note, it really makes one feel old when you go into an antique store and they are selling (as pricey antiques) pyrex bowls and Corningware identical to those that I am still using!!

Got bored while sitting in the car yesterday waiting for my husband, so I pulled out my camera and started shooting. It was kind of fun!

IMHO #1. There seems to be noise in #2. Also, in #2, the bird appears to look as if it is "pasted" to the sky. I think this is the result of over- sharpening, as Linda mentioned. Appreciate Linda's advise about the brightly lit room.
