I have a couple of questions about the D850 since we are on the topic.

1. How do the two different type memory card slots work? Can I still use either as primary and use the other as backup or extended space?
2. The viewfinder looks to be larger. Is it functionally better?

Yes, you can use the secondary card slot as overflow if you want or one as NEF and the other as JPEG.

Hope this is as a straight foward question as I would like it to be. For owners of the D 850 after using the D 850 would you buy again after your experience with it?

Yes, still the best DSLR made.

It is macos for the Macs...not iOS. There are some issues with software but by and large anything that runs under Catalina runs under Big Sur. You can visit http://roaringapps.com...they gave a long list of what does and does run correctly, mostly correctly, or not at all. That site has been around since at least macOS Lion.

Link does not work.

No problem on an Apple iMac 2015 model, and Photoshop works with no problems. The only software that did not work was Raw Therapy. I also have Affinity Photo, Exposure X6, On1Photo Raw 2021, Luminar 4, Topaz Studio 2, Pixelmator Pro, DXO PhotoLab 4, Aurora HDR 2019, Lightroom Classic, GIMP 2.10.14 and Dark Table all of which work normally.

Why is it that medical billing can't get it's act together? If I have a problem with a bill, it's always medical. It took three phone calls and almost an hour yesterday to straighten out a bill. "Oh, it seems we applied your payment to a different account." This situation goes back years, with several providers. I now use credit card or check so I have some proof.

I have been billed from hospitals for billing going back five years.

Has anyone upgraded to the new OS for the iMac's? If so, has anyone encountered any problems? last question, does anyone know if this new OS Big Sur is compatible with ON1 Photo Raw 2021? I don't want to initiate the download until I can determine if it is compatible with ON1 Photo Raw 2021, as that is my main PP software.

I realize I can contact the developer for an answer, but thought someone on this forum my be knowledgeable in this regard.

Thanks for anyone that can answer these questions.

Roger

Better late than never:

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early
The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?
The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
T'was the witch of November come stealin'
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashin'
When afternoon came it was freezin' rain
In the face of a hurricane west wind
When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck sayin'
"Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At seven PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said
"Fellas, it's been good to know ya"
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the maritime sailors' cathedral
The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early
Better late than never: br br b The legend lives... (show quote)

On November 10, 1975, SS Edmund Fitzgerald, an ore carrier sailing out of Superior, Wisconsin, headed for a steel mill near Detroit, encountered gale force winds, and was just out of sight of her traveling companion, SS Arthur M. Anderson, when she sent a final message, "We are holding our own". She then broke in two, and disappeared from radar. "Fitz" sank in 88 fathoms of water taking her entire crew of 29 men to the bottom of Lake Superior. At the time, "Fitz" was one of the largest ore carriers operating on the Great Lakes.

Later on folk singer Gordon Lightfoot, wrote and sang, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

The attached photo was taken at the shore of Lake Superior, and the pilings are lined, pointing northward.

She sank close to White Fish Bay and in Marquette Michigan museum they have a few salvaged items from the Fitz.

I had taken a few shots of my dog. She is a dark red/brown and was on a white floor. The shots were coming out too dark, so I pushed the EC up to +3. That worked fine.

The next time I used that camera I was taking shots of leaves on my lawn and couldn't understand why only auto gave the right exposure, any other mode was horribly overexposed... UNTIL, finally, the epiphany! DUHH - I still had the +3 EC set!

I have done that more times than I care to mention, I also wish that when you turn the camera off it would return to zero.
