I taught plant diversity to upper level college students. This included fungi and slime molds. Each student grew their own pet slime mold, fed it thru its entire life history.
Classes decided it was more educational and more fun than having a pet rock (recall those days?). In Waco, TX a home owner had a huge, circular slime mould growing in the front lawn, thought a flying saucer had landed there! When slime moulds produce spore producing bodies, the structure can have an amazing architecture and symmetry.
Interesting organisms to be sure!

Calvatia sculpta, a type of puffball mushroom

Quite edible, and tasty. Typically found in the northwest, Mt. Shasta, etc.

We will be staying overnight in Cincinnati tomorrow and will have a few hours for photo opportunities. Any suggestions? We like parks and outdoorsy stuff.

Cincinnati's best kept secret-Spring Grove Cemetery!! Fantastic flowers, amazing arboretum, numerous ponds, old, old tomb architecture, bible flowers stained glass windows, visitors always welcome. A great place in which to get lost, Huge! Be sure to get a map at the entry office!

A few months back I ordered the Topaz Studio 30 day trial. However, it would not load on my newest desktop (Dell)... .

I'm unable to even send them an email. I paid for the product on Nov. 24, 2018 via PayPal.
I think I will agree with your acessment and stay far away from these folks in the future!
It should be far easier to get help with their product than what I am experiencing. To be fair, perhaps I don't understand their website, but it shouldn't be THAT complicated, or restricted!

Sorry if this is not the correct topic section. Back in January I subscribed to Topaz AIclear. Have been using it regularly since then. Last evening I received an update to Topaz Studio. Since then, I have not been able to access Topaz AI clear. Have rebooted, done all of the usual steps. When visiting the Topaz site there is apparently no way to send a message specifically regarding the above. They provide a short list of plugins to select from to make an inquiry. I checked my online purchases thru Topaz and they show no evidence that I have purchased said item. Am in a bit of a quandry as to next steps necessary. I certainly don't want to pay for the software a 2nd time! I will check Pay Pal and my credit card statement, but it will not likely show the specific item purchased. Any ideas?

I used the Nikkor 105 micro for 15 yrs or more and switching to the 200 micro since its inception made, for me, macro work so much easier and my results far better (such as they are!). I offer several posts at uhh with the results. Granted, it ain't cheap!

Today was a fantastic day, mid 60s and minimal clouds. Used my Canon 80D and Tamron 150-600mm lens mounted on a tripod. All details will be with each photo. ALL C&C is welcome. DDLs will show more detail. Thanks to all who stopped by to take a look.

Don't overlook the Nikkor 200mm f4 macro, very sharp, but heavier than others and not cheap.

Technically, the strawberry is an aggregate accessory fruit, meaning that the fleshy part is derived not from the plant's ovaries but from the receptacle that holds the ovaries. Each apparent 'seed' (achene) on the outside of the fruit is actually one of the ovaries of the flower, with a seed inside it.

I'm happy you have this solved. I would recommend that you do some reading on the Red River site and select a paper to try. I purchased a sampler pack, printed the same photo on each paper (yep, had to download lots of icc profiles -- you can download all at once) and I keep a binder that helps me select a paper. I use about 4 or 5 types but use Ultra Pro Satin the most. Best of luck.

Thanks much! I am prepping for a fly fishing show this weekend where I demonstrate handcrafting Bamboo fly rods, but I will definitely look into Red River paper samplers once the rush is over. Do appreciate the recommendation. I photograph primarily to print, having done so for several decades now.
