I trap them and relocate them to a wildlife area. I always release them in the same spot so they can be reunited with their friends. Then it is up to the large population of Fox and Hawks to handle population control. This winter I relocated six.

To get back here they have to cross a river and two highways. Once I don't see any for a week I put the trap away, usually for 3 or 4 months.

Pellet rifle. It won't kill them at a distance, but will give them the idea that bird feeders are off limit food sources.

Hate is a mighty strong word to use unless physical harm is being done personally to you or a family member.
I think they make feeders with a baffle of some kind to prevent them getting to the seed.
On the plus side, look at all the photo opportunities you're getting.

Trap them...and then release them miles away.

Parboil for 20 minutes before pan frying, then you'll like them

I have a 20 lb. cat that is very fond of squirrel and he leaves the tails by the back door to let me know that he is doing his job.

I love watching them. I feed all that happen into my yard whether they fly or have bushy tails. I buy bird feed, duck feed, squirrel feed. They are welcome here.

I bought a trap off of Amazon called a Squirrelinator, the pesky things were destroying my back yard. I caught 43 squirrels in 2 months, I even caught them 2 at a time. I drive 7 miles away to a wildlife preserve and turn them loose there. I had spent many $ trying to get rid of them, and this is what worked. I have even caught them 2 at a time.

What with hating cats and now squirrels! They must be entertaining to watch ours are. Trap and relocate them a few miles away....the squirrels not the cats.

The reason for relocating them was because they were destroying my back yard.

If you can't get rid of them, just put Crisco on the pole and break out the video camera...

I used to hate them. Now I shoot them with a pellet rifle (it's quiet). Over 300 in the last four years. And they taste pretty good too.

You can find some decent recipes on the internet. Not as plentiful here but have managed to bag a few raiding our bird feeders. Also have a dog that enjoys running them down and then tossing them around like a furry toy. Alas poor tree rat, you should have stayed away.

I think they're cute. Wish we had more. I only get rats on my bird feeders.
