I just got a Nikon D7000 from KEH for $380. It included battery and charger. Had 38,000 shots roughly when I checked n a photo count site. Got it for the wife for Christmas as her D70s finally died. Of course it was body, battery and charger only (with body cap) but it works great and is considerably better than her old D70s. If you want better quality pictures, you need to improve your skills. Upgrading your equipment doesn’t typically improve picture quality.

If you're interested in used equipment, here's the link to what B&H has in Nikon SLR's, sorted high-to-low. At the $1K +/- price point there are a lot of options, and you could probably find what you seek.
I bought a D750 and a D500 last year, replacing my aging D200, and the D750 is perfect. I use it for my "go to" camera, and the D500 has shown a great deal of versatility.
You need to ask yourself just what you'll gain from going to FX from DX. I like FX for its large sensor, but the DX has certainly been no slouch when it comes to quality.

Want to upgrade your camera and can afford it, then do it, time waits for no one! Ultimately it's the person behind the camera that makes the image, but what you use to make an image does matter. Buying used or refurbished can be a way to acquire equipment at substantially reduced prices, but does entail risk. Even buying refurbished is no guarantee the camera works as it should. Get what makes you happy, as in the end it's your life and not be concerned what others may think. I upgraded from a D3200 to D800E and what a difference, not only in the quality of the image, but the things I can do with it. Now I'm shooting with a D810 and it's even better! Remember, you can always make money but only spend time so enjoy things while you can!

Be careful with the D700. Great camera. loved mine but when I recently sent it into Nikon repair center in LA with a focussing problem I received a note back saying they no longer had access to the parts needed to repair the camera. I replaced it with a refurbished D750.

You stated that you like to do macro-landscape-flowers. Do you have a macro lens? If you don't have one you might get one before purchasing another camera. You can use it for general photography as well.
If you're not getting good photos with your D3300 you might post some here. Be sure to check the "store original" box. UHH members will be able to see the metadata and have recommendations on how to improve them.

Wow. I heard rumors it was the same for the D300 too.
