I never ever had to utilize a camera warranty or anything related to it.

Until

I upgraded to my Canon 70D. I thought that the pictures were a little soft. I sent it in for warranty repair. Canon said it was maladjusted from the factory and fixed it.

Tamron. Again with the 70D. The lens needed an upgrade to work with the 70D. Tamron upgraded it with no charge.

Why don't you quit beating the dead horse? If you want to buy grey market, just do it! Put your big boy pants on and make your own decision.

So far I have been very lucky. Never had a problem with any of my Nikon bodies or lenses. Started with Nikon in 1959 or so. Gosh that was a long time ago!:):)

If I had a problem grey or uk dealer - I would go back to supplier - who is the one I have the contract with. I would not deal direct with Nikon - I would just return item to whoever I purchased it from . (see uk consumer law)

Never. However that does not preclude the need for such a service in the future.

How often have I used my car insurance? Got tow once, 15 years ago, before never, since never.... but as the ad says, "Don't leave home without it"

Once just under a year after I got my camera. Then took advantage of the warranty to have the camera cleaned and checked. That was because the first repair came with an additional 6 month warranty and was advised that I could get the cleaning / adjust free because of that extension.
