Most times I just carry one camera, but do carry 2 sometimes. On rare occasions I carry three camera's and each has a walkabout lens in it.

Sometimes I like to bring two cameras when I go out shooting. I have one with a tele and the other with a wide angle. I use an OP/Tech double strap arrangement to carry one on each shoulder.

I'm wondering how many of you carry two cameras when you're out shooting or when you go on vacation. On the one hand, you don't have to stop and change lenses, but on the other, you have to carry two cameras.

I use the same strap thanks to MT Shooter , 7D with a 400mm 5.6L and a 40D with 70-200 2.8L . Now just finding the time when the weather is cooperative

I can't think of a time when I would be out on a serious photo trip that I will not have two cameras with me - now that I have the capability - I never go on a hunting trip of fishing trip with just one gun of fishing pole.
I have had too many times when I said to myself " if I just had that ??? " which another camera will give me now.

I have to honest - I have a fantastic Canon AV 1 kit and a fridge full of film - I need to pack it out there also.
the Canon 350d, with 18-55 & 100-300 w/macro, a Lumix FZ 18 bridge, and Canon AV 1 with it's fantastic 2 lens - 35-70 & 75-150 w/ matched 2X
Ya I'll need a donkey like the old prospectors had.

That does not make you a bad person, but it may be more expensive. One additional small problem might be, having to explain to the inquisitive what you are doing when you are changing film. Might be like trying to explain to the cashier at the grocery how to count change. The truth is, I am like electricity and water. I tend to take the line of least resistance and that path may be considered shocking and wet.Sorry!

The reason for the film is that I'm totally colour blind. Digital just does not come close to the quality of film for people like me, (digital equals approximately 70% of the quality of film, but those with normal colour vision will never notice the difference). So the film is absolutely necessity when I see an outstanding shot for my own collection.

I carry two, my main camera is an E-PL1 with a 19mm prime lens, which very rarely comes off. My second back up camera is a Lumix TZ20, used when wide angle or some zoom is required, I also find the GPS function useful, to me that is.

Jerry I carry 2 I have the black rapid DOUBLE dr1 very comfortable.I also shoot with my 70 to 200 and a wide angle most of the time.My 70 to 200 is a tamron so the weight is not a factor that lens is sharp just a little slow on focus.

I just have one. A canon sx40 HS, with a nice zoom that takes care of macro to telephoto. I don't have to change lenses, however I use some filters. It was one of the reasons I bought this one. I have difficulty holding and changing lenses as I am aging. This enabled me to keep using photography and I really have enjoyed it. I don't regret using this camera at all, it's been a joy for me. I would encourage anyone who has difficulty with heavy cameras or changing lenses to consider this kind of camera. It has a 35mm equivalent of 24w to 840 (t),plus digital zoom which extends the reach to 3360mm, if needed, however I don't use that much to preserve as much quality as possible. I do understand why people have dslr cameras, but I really enjoy mine. I would be locked out of my hobby without it.

If I am going to shoot a wedding, 2, a D7000 and a D90. If not, the D7000 with Tamron 18-27 and/or Sigma 50-500 and an Olympus Tough 8500 in my pocket

Depends on what I am shooting and where I am. If I shoot events at my local Audubon Sanctuary I carry 2 camera, one for group interactions with a 28-75 lens and one with my 70-200 or my 180 Macro, depends on the event. If I am out for my self I carry on one lens , camera and tripod configuration depending on what i have decide to shoot. Now I have everything I may need in my car. But I decide what is it that I want to photograph that day and try to stick to it

I like to take 3. The D7000 w/18-200 and GPS for most shots. Then the D80 w/70-200 and lastly the D90 with 10/20. And now I have the D600 to add to the mix. This is where the Tech/Op quad sling comes in handy. I can carry 4 but up until now, have had an empty camera bay!
