I didn't have to install an app. to do business, if I that had been a condition I wouldn't have made my first purchase.
Hmm, I thought you needed the app to order. Others here have also said that. Interesting....🤔
I have purchased a fair number of items from TEMU. I will caution you that their descriptions can be misleading. I bought rubber bands which the ad showed as two bags and of a good size...what arrived was one bag of tiny rubber bands (useless for me). There have been several other incorrect items over the past few months. They do have a return system which in itself, could use some improvement. Most of what I have bought has been as it seemed and the overall is that I will continue to use this site...but with very close attention to the items shown. Can't beat the prices if you get what you thought you purchased.

They seem to be on a trajectory to attempt an overtake of Amazon. But, are their products any good? I realize most are probably manufactured in China (or similar), and I suspect they are sub-par, but haven't bought any, or know of anyone who has. My question, have you? What has your experience been? Is the tool that costs $20 at Harbor Freight worth the $2.50 TEMU charges.
I have purchased quite a bit from them. While I wouldn't say I like buying from the Chinese, what choice is there any way -- 90% of everything you buy is from China. I know there are some who live in Vermont or Maine and only buy locally made wood items and clothing merchandise and who beat their eggs with a whip made in the USA but really, anyone buying almost anything from a cell phone to a refrigerator is most likely buying something from China! One article about TEMU explained why they sell for so little. They are not in the retail merchandise business -- they are a technology company harvesting information about people who buy from them and selling your info to various companies. My wife will not order from them, although she did place one order with them. I told her that was all they needed and that not ordering from them would make no difference now -- they have all the info about her they needed. As to quality -- I find 95% to be of good quality and the tools while maybe not industrial quality, are more than sufficient for around home work. They have some very unique items you will not find anywhere else. I recently bought a coat for our dog. I was surprised at the good quality. It is similar to a pack-away fleece coat for people though I'm sure it is filled with something other than goose down. Another item I liked was a toothpick holder. It is a slender hardwood tube with brass fittings to unscrew the cap which has a keychain loop. It will hold maybe eight toothpicks. Some of the best lightening cords for Apple phones are on the site as well. Another product they have is their pen selection. I'm always interested in pens and have some very good pens like Mont Blancs, Watermans, etc. I recently ordered a dozen pens for less than 3.00 and really like writing with them. They have an almost micro tip and writing with them is almost like using a quill. They are very smooth gell-like with the ink flowing easily onto the paper. They have an extensive line of photo equipment like backpacks. I have not tried any of those products, mostly limiting my purchases to cords and tools. Because of what their company is -- an information harvesting company more than a retail company the main choice is to not do business with them at all or if you feel your data is already spread around the internet enough (which it most likely is) that doing business with them will not matter, then check them out. You will be amazed at some of the items they carry which you may not have ever considered or known about.
It was stated recently on the Bloomberg business channel that are trying, as stated by others here, to overtake Amazon, Alibaba, and the likes, by, as often done, selling at a loss.
I have bought a few weird tools with no problems, but, as also stated, you will get lots of emails, like everyone else.

I believe they are indeed in the retail business but they do want to collect information too so that the information can help them in the retail business. They can sell cheap because because they have help from their goverment so that they can take down the online giant Amazon.
I have purchased several items and only one disappointed but at 1.79 I wasn't going to complain for 1.79. I have heard that they are losing millions from what the prices may be in the future. This is considered the cost to aquire new customers. The longest I have had to wait is 2 weeks.

I read a review on them that made me side-step them altogether. In the review it stated that Temu steals info from your computer - like all your contacts.
If that’s true, it’s certainly not unique to TEMU.
If we didn't buy from China, prices would be considerably more expensive. TSMC, the largest contract chip manufacturer in the world that makes processors for Intel, AMD, Apple and many more is building a new facility in Arizona. The project has been slowed down because of supply chain issues and lack of qualified applicants. TSMC has said that the per chip costs are much more expensive than those made in Taiwan. TSMC has said that they will be bringing over many employees who have the skills needed, although they are working with local trade and universities to get people the education they need.
You can unsubscribe. I only keep the app on my phone to use when I need to. They and all advertisers have gotten to be a pain in the ass. I got an email today from a photographer that I bought a small item from. The email said that I would be receiving at least 3 emails per day with their unbelievable products and savings. Unsubscribed immediately.

I've bought a bunch of beautiful wildly-colored shirts, a few rings (less than $5), some kids' toys and educational stuff (microscopes and telescopes) and whatever suits the moment, and none of it costs much. Never had a problem, and never waited for more than a week or so.

TSMC is a Taiwanese company (founded by a Chinese born American) but they make the majority of the chips in China.

So why are the UHH pages suddenly bombarded with ads for TEMU? Does everyone see them or is it only me? A week ago there weren't any TEMU ads.

Only you because you visited their website. I am bombarded with ads from Keyence (a company you probably don't know about). They do sell a lot of electronics stuff but the ads was always for their digital microscope. Every time I accidentally clicked on it the rep called me. The last time he called me and said if I am not interested in their microscope please don't click on the ads but it's hard to avoid it.

I'm seeing the temu adds on here, and I haven't visited their website and won't be.
