I wonder what percentage of the total membership uses the Digest. And I wonder what percentage of the Digest users are complaining about the change.
I have seen a number of comments that suggest the majority of the membership uses the digest and are upset by the change. I doubt that is the case.

I'm afraid I find the "new" format awful. After quite a few years, I had a sequence in which I read the morning Hedgehog column. Now I have no idea of what I am going to see next. I read the "way" to reorganize it but it does not track with what I see on the screen. I am told to look at the top left hand section of "digest." I don't see any "digest" section. I liked the old system and may just need to drop out unless it can be an option. I understand the desire for "new and better," but I find it definitely not better.

OK, we've had the new format here for long enough to evaluate it. So, what are your thoughts? Improvement? Annoying? Don't care?

I dislike it, a lot. There were a couple sections I would always look at, and then just sort of scan the others for interesting titles. Now we have to either wade through all the messages, or filter for one section at a time.

Admins: How about an option to use the old format?

I agree let’s go back

I don't like it but I'm getting used to it. I'm not seeing as much as I used to but then I was often looking at things that were of no great interest to me.

What I will miss is the occasional question that I'd never thought about coming in my Daily Digest, and perhaps a well written answer from someone who similarly might miss a question under the new format.

Anyways, I'm not about to drop it anytime soon.

Perhaps the Amin knows. My guess is that only small number of UHH members used the digest but a rather large percentage of the digest users don't like the change. Of course I just guessed. I really don't know.

I am pretty sure that admin has access to the system metrics so the numbers are available. It’s up to him whether they get shared, and from his posts on the subject, the system metrics provided the reason for the change.

Also, admin watches the comments and has responded by tweaking the initial change by adding the section filter.

I'm sure Admin does review the use of the system. They should be concerned because their advertisers likely do as well. When users start spending a lot less time using the system, they have less to offer.

Do not care for. I don’t feel that this change is for the better. Prefer the old organization of it

Judging by the attention this subject has received (30-40 different threads), I would think Admin is rubbing his hands in glee and advertisers complimenting him on how popular the site really is. Seems photographers are at times a funny bunch of folk. Often can't agree, or agree to disagree about camera brands or whether a camera phone is even a camera. Now we have a whole new subject on which to voice our opinions.
Watch this space, next we'll have a new Subject to watch. Maybe called, Do you agree with Admin...

Don't care for the new format. Now I don't log into the forum from the email sent. I log into the forum thru my link favorites on MSN and it comes up in the old format. Problem solved, I think.

Being able to have the digest present with the ability to filter for each section you’ve subscribed to makes it function much like the old format. I’m content with that. Also, I use the new topics button now to scan through for interesting posts.

I really don't like dealing with it. I really look at very little now and I could stop logging in and not miss it too much.
