Not a bad idea, actually. Or maybe those of us who are still happy with our systems need a new forum that could actually be devoted to discussion of meaningful photographic topics, including even our hardware, without having them devolve into sermons preaching to just buy a mirrorless camera (or do a factory reset on the one we have).

And FotoHog...I am sorry to have to tell you, but the division already exists.

The topics would be redundant.
It comes down to new tech vs old...the only difference.

The pros have left the DSLR behind statistically.
The market follows the pros...as with most other products that have levels of gear.

Why should anyone care what the pros leave behind or what the market follows?....🤔

Smartphones, Tablets, and laptop PC all have mirrorless cameras so it is quite likely that everyone here actually owns a mirrorless camera of some type.

Someday there will be the same type of debates between those that own all-electric vehicles vs. those that have hybrid vehicles or one with an old combustion engine.

The mirrorless images will win all the prizes. It won't be fair. It won't even be a competition.

Well, we all know that sooner than later camera manufacturers will be all concentrating their efforts more and more on mirrorless bodies. If more dSLR cameras will continue to be introduced in the future I do not really know but what I can guarantee you is that more and better mirrorless camera will continue to be manufactured. Right now their technologies are SUPERIOR to those of the dSLR cameras. If you want to keep using dSLR bodies I can tell you there is nothing wrong with it, each one of us should use and shoot with what makes us comfortable. A little tip, more and more professionals are using mirrorless cameras.

I tend to agree with you that a mirrorless forum is a great idea.

We should have a new "mirrorless' forum. This way, those of us who are satisfied with our clunky, old, DSLR's won't have to listen to the constant preaching about the mirrorless. It almost makes me vomet when I'm told I will never truly have a feel for life until I kneel at the mirrorless altar and convert to the no mirror god.

You're have an allergy. You need to treat your allergy or just avoid the UHH.

NO, Mirrorless is a mechanical change in the working of the mechanism of the recording machine. The controls or the art have not changed.

They said the same thing about the 4 cylinder and V8. Times and technology change. Be a duck. Water off the back. You will live longer.

I certainly hope that administration DOES NOT DO THAT, PLEASE!
No matter what group that I participate in, the I call them the "My dog is better than your dog" people, are there. They will always be, and that you can be sure of. Sometimes I learn something from them, sometimes not. I have no problem with someone favoring their brand, type, etc. over what I have and use. It does not take away or diminish what I use and do in any way shape or form. To me closing off that stream of information and or bias is short sighted. I am an adult and I can handle other people favoring and promoting that which works for them. My camera does not start taking crappy pictures simply because you prefer a different system than I use.
Again I ask that this group is not further segregated.

I think we need to be careful what we wish for or suggest. In the almost five years that I've been here, many have made that choice. Many of those were knowledgeable, helpful posters. Retention of new members as active participants is very low also.

There may have been some level of jest behind the OP's suggestion, but I suspect that the underlying feelings are quite genuine. Despite the occasional strokes written in appreciation for an answer to a question, it remains the case that this is neither a welcoming nor particularly friendly place. It would certainly never pass muster in any place that I would want to work.

At the risk of presuming to speak for the OP, I think the call is for a little more civility and quite a lot of what comes across, quite frankly, as bullying.
