Went to a British car show in Palos Hills, IL, and this was sitting there. A true jewel
it's awesome, joe! i can just see myself driving down the country road i live on and waving at the neighbors.
it's also one of my favorite colors!
Always loved those 40s-50s MGs.
Come to think of it, Booker T & the MGs aren't bad either.
Great shot of a vehicle I never see. vz
Good shot! Looks like a beautiful restoration.

Yep, I remember the AutoPulse electric fuel pump well (replaced it with a Bendix). Trivia question: why do the British wear driving gloves? Answer: So they can pull the burning wiring harness from under the dash without burning their hands. Ask me how I know...
Annnnddddd.... Of Course:
Why do the British drink their beer warm? Because, Lucas make refrigerators."
Beautiful cars from a beautiful country where the ladies have skin as fair as fresh cream.

If it would start 😈. Apologies to MG fans, but having owned several, I couldn’t resist. Can’t see the wheels, but looks like a TD. Nice shot!
MG and other British car products had electrics by Lucas. Lucas was most widely known for creating the short circuit.

Are you are merry Texan from Georgia? I guess either of those places would have some nice country roads for top down cruising. What we need in this day and age is a real 2-seater - and not the kind to break the bank...

I’ve had a Jag, a TR4, Spitfire, Sunbeam Alpine, 2 Bug Eye Sprites, 2 Minis (one a 1275), a Cortina, and an MGA, (I may have forgotten some), and I couldn’t count the number of Lucas generators distributors and caps, starters, etc. that have failed and left me on the side of the road. I love British cars, but their reliability? Well...
And they haven’t fixed it yet. My SE at Oracle had a shiny new Aston Martin that his wife won a 2 year lease on in a sales contest. In the first year, the dealer had to come get it no less than 8 times for an electrical problem that prevented it from starting. More recently, my friend, who had an fairly recent XJ8 asked me to help him sell it after it left his family and their friends on the side of the road one too many times. Upon reviewing the service records, it was stunning. He had spent almost 15K$ on maintenance in about 65K miles. Beautiful, fast automobile, but just not practical to live with. I thought about buying it (for 6K) even though I didn’t need it until I saw the service records. Sold it to a Jag aficionado who knew what he was getting into.
