This is the lens you want, and, it is currently on sale.

I had read good things of the Tokina 11-20, and it is f/2.8.
I personally have the Tokina 11-16 2.8 and I am very happy with it, but mainly use it for astro or it's effect, probably too wide for groups of people.

I have the same lens and use it on a Nikon D7000. A great lens for the price point.

I’ll third this suggestion. The Tokina is a nice sharp lens.

I already new that, but good to have a first-hand review on its use in FX.
Some time in the future it is in my plans to add an FX body (at the moment would be either D750 or Z6) and although I would eventually change the Tokina for FX glass, at least I would be able to use it meanwhile at 16mm :)

I haven’t tried mine on the Z7, but as I understand from reading that it automatically goes to crop mode and there is no way to change it to FX mode. I’m hoping we can get a firmware update at some point that will allow it.

This is absurd... and obvious the poster doesn't have clue on how to effective use wide angle optics..
Many published fashion editorials are shot far wider than 24mm (FX)

Thank you Thomas902,
You seem to be the only one backing up yourself with real world examples of what you say vs pie in the sky pontificating on something one has heard from someone from a person from the internet.
Quite enlightening and refreshing.

While I'm still dealing with computer problems, I don't have access to my 140 pages, so I'll have to improvise. Samyang and Rokinon sell lower priced wide angle lenses. Samyang makes them, and Rokinon sells them in North and South America. Samyang lenses are also sold under other brand names, like Bell and Howell and Vivitar. I feel like there is another low-cost wide angle brand I am forgetting. Without my computer, part of my memory just isn't there.

When researching which ultrawide angle lens to buy, I read reviews of the Tokina ultrawide zoom lenses. They apparently suffer from high chromatic aberration and horrendous ghosting and flare. I ended up purchasing the new version of the Tamron 10-24mm. It has very well controlled ghosting and flare. This is the testing that steered me away from the Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX II AF 11-16 mm f/2.8.

Totally agree with all of young lensirest used on a D 7100 as it was designed for and then on a full frame D 600 with reduced angular coverage. It worked like a champ on by bodies.
I highly recommend a Tokina lens.

I just purchased a Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX lens for my D7500. I chose this over the Nikkor 10-20mm because of the fixed aperture throughout the focal range. It does not have optical stabilization, but the build is far superior to the Nikkor. It has a quick focus and takes some really amazing shots. I'm extremely happy with it. Well worth the 329 bucks I paid for it . I posted some shots in the challenge section for the Challenge free weekend of June 20- 21 on page 8 if you would like to get an idea.

I have the Sigma 10-20 for my D7200. Great lens. Used it exclusively in our trip to the Utah canyons.

I use a Sigma 17-50 f2.8 on my D7100. It is fast, sharp, and priced right.
