I saw them on Amazon and they had a lot of good and BAD reviews. I decided not to take the chance.

I just do not get photostick. You can get a 250GB external SSD for less than the 128GB photostick sale price of $80. And how long is 128GB going to last? Not long when you have 32 or 64GB cards in your camera.
They are not large enough to serve as a backup media. They are too expensive to use as a distribution media (especially when Dropbox is free). I could not even backup just my accumulated phone pics to one of these.

Just what is the use of photostick?

Totally agree. I can’t think of any use for this dodgy product.

They don't really sell USB drive just the software that most of the time doesn't work.

I purchased two of "The Photo Stick" some time ago and they both work perfectly with no problems.

I too have been fooled by them and their product. They are scammers and I hope no one else will ever buy their products.

They are 2 separate web sites.

This country thing is confusing. Two different products with "Photostick" in their name. One company is in New Zealand, the other gives no indication where they are.
The OP is in NZ, saying his problem reflects poorly on a USA company. Someone else says he shouldn't condemn "a country of 350 million people" because of his experience.

All are chiming in without knowing what product from what company he has. Enough. Let the OP figure it out.

Looks to me like you failed to read all of the conversation pertinent to the OP'S photo stick complaint and my response. The OP is from New Zealand. The product he's having a problem with is not from NZ, it's from the USA, or at least purchased from a USA based distributor. The OP expressed his disappointment with the USA when it should be with the company. I can understand partially why the OP expressed frustration in this manner. He is from a relatively small country, about twice the area of Pennsylvania, with a small population, less than half of Pennsylvania or just under 6 million people. He was expressing his feeling in more of a local manner than a global manner. If you read even closer, it looks like the OP may have caused problems by formatting the thumb drive with the software on it.
Maybe you should read more of the actual conversation before chiming in without knowing of what you speak.

I agree with the comment about not blaming a whole nation for a defective product. Try either substituting it with a replacement from the company that sold it to you. Another possibility would be in the future to buy from outfits such as Amazon that has an excellent return policy.

If you have tried to contact customer support for either a replacement or refund and they have not given you satisfaction perhaps your country has recourse to force the issue between you and the company that sold you the defective product

Good luck and take a deep breath - we're all hoping the best for you

Once again the snarky and belligerent comments come out. None of which had any pertinence to the original question. Why can't the responses just answer the question or give the individual a tip as to where they might find the information they seek. That might actually make this site a pleasure to read. Just a tip to those who feel themselves compelled to verbally whip anyone they consider to be wasting their valuable time. Some people are honestly looking for an answer and they might not know that this same subject has been debated ad nauseam. It just never fails that the UHH police come storming out. No longer for me. Wish I could say its been a pleasure. I'm finished.

I've read some mixed reviews on this product. The idea is great but a total waste of time & $$ if it does not work as advertised. Looks like I'll pass on this one.

Could be a compatibility issue. What are you connecting it to, and especially, how old is it?

To all those who have replied to my Q about Photostick thank you, even those who have made snide remarks, and to the person who said I was stupid to Format, read my post, as this was done on instructions from Photostick,
It look like i will just have to lump it, and put it down to a unfortunate experiance,

Have a good day from New Zealand,, Colin,

A year or more ago I bought two and before opening them I saw too many negative reviews. I got an return authorization and got full refund. Maybe I was lucky.
