We've all read about the advantages of prime lenses - they're fast, they're sharp, they make us think more about composition and make us "zoom" with out feet, but a zoom lens can really be convenient. I have four primes which mostly sat on the shelf until recently - a Nikon "nifty fifty", a Tamron 90mm macro, a Tamron 35mm, (these three are full frame lenses) and a Nikon 35mm DX lens. I'm finding out that these lenses can be a lot of fun - how about you guys?
In this challenge, show us what your primes can do and why you like them - I'm starting out with my 90mm macro. Since it is for full frame it gives a 135mm equivalent on my DX body but I've found that it can be very versatile and is a pretty decent portrait lens.

Unfortunately I don't have a prime lens so I will be perusing everyone's contributions, may just give me a reason to invest in one!
Sue, that Spider is fantastic (yuk!) as are all your captures. Nice ones!
