My first serious attempt at using Portrait Professional 9. After using the PP-9 application, I transferred it over to Photoshop Elements to put in on the white background. So, your opinions please. Too much "correction", or about right? You will not hurt my feelings as I want to hone this skill and was advised you can easily over-correct with Portrait Professional.
Wow! There's so many good ones! I had to take a stab at it with what I have which is TouchFlow by Kevin Focht and also using some CS5...

You did a nice job too,Mary. It looks great.
I just looked for Kevin's TouchFlow and don't see it anymore. It was a PS plug-in. He's got something new now, that costs $179. Take a look at his blog. There is great stuff on there and he's very talented!
http://fochtcreative.com/blog/Oh, and for the forehead, some of the spots on the face, and the eye, I just used Photoshop.

Mary P - nice job. I especially like what you did with the hair. I am not familiar with TouchFlow. Is it, like Portrait Pro, limited to faces? I assume so since you also used CS5. Thanks.

I want to see your remake!
Okay, here is remake numero uno (without the Photoshop background). Closer? Still a little much?
Let's see yours Val!
Hi Timarron, don't know anything about the software issue the remake looks better but the hot spot on her forehead needs to go. The first things I saw were her teeth and her forehead and missed her beautiful eyes they need to be the first things I see. Also the focus is a bit soft in her eyes.

Those are some nice edits everyone has done. She's a beautiful subject. I went the other direction and took off some of the shine. Maybe too much though. I use Filterstorm on my Ipad which is a little buggy since the OS5 update. I have Photoshop Elements 9 on my other computer but don't know how to use it yet. Need to take a class or something. Not sure how this edited photo will translate once I upload it but here goes.
Great contributions. I agree, it is so easy to "overshoot" the target when working with Portrait Professional. On another note, and as a reminder when we are taking close up portraits of people, jewlery, or in this case, the cross should be centered. It gives the picture a more balanced visual effect.
The flash has blown out some areas. Head on lighting tends to flatten the image. The lighting needs to be moved off camera to provide a better 3d effect.
you can't top her natural beauty.

All of the ideas are good, but I still like your second picture best. I'm not into doing Portraits, but I like "Barbie". I'm sure you worked on it for hours. The only thing I can comment on, I would had her necklace straighen. But's that why I'm here to, to learn.

You should never, ever, ever, completely get rid of freckles. although most women that have them, hate them, they are so much sexier leaving them alone. Once you've taken them away, they will want them back. Just sayin'.

Plushtoy - excellent job, and I am particularly pleased with the relocation of the cross. You did a seamless job with that and it makes the picture look a lot better to the perfectionists!
I am very impressed and grateful so many people contributed to this, and have picked up some good tips and techniques. This photo was not really posed. I took it at a party where I was just snapping pictures of people having a good time, which I think often translates to nice relaxed smiles and natural looks. Young Sarah here has a great smile and doesn't really take a bad picture and just looked up and beamed when I said "Hey Sarah!"
Again, you are all a talented and generous bunch. Regards.
Timarron
Thank you for the compliments, but you provided the initial spark and for that I thank you, thought that you may want to play with this one, yeah! this is for sure the last one! :-)
would u tilt her head a little please?
