First of all, nice job everyone. To reach for the professional level in portraiture, you need to pay attention to detail. Make sure everything is in the right place be fore pressing the shutter; hair , clothing, and make sure jewelry is straight. That was the first thing I noticed, her neckless was crooked. Backgrounds are important too. All in all, I like the image you created with the white background as well as what everyone else created :)

I am a portrait painter by trade as well as a photographer. Remakes show successful evolutions. Keeping some of the freckles was good. Skin and lighting look good. If I were painting it, I would open up that weak left eye a little more, make it more symmetrical. Use that liquid effect a little more, maybe even do a selection scale transform to make it a little larger.

Suggestion: try to always make sure that your aperature setting is such that if a models features (especially eyes) are at different distances (as in this photo)... either center spot focus... and kick the aperature up a notch or two... because the eye on the left (her right eye, facing the camera) is blurry.

Otherwise, I really like the last couple 'treatments' in post processing. Beautiful woman... great smile, incredible eye (but one is just a touch fuzzy). Most people will look at the eyeS and then the smile on portraits, FIRST & SECOND... unless they have a reason to look elsewhere.

Everyone is giving their best effort, so here is my try at using Photoshop and Photo Professional. The main changes where done in Photoshop, I decreased the shine on her face and opened her right eye. My left eye does the same thing, it is barely open and when I get tired, it is almost closed. People don't notice it much because I wear glasses. Everyone has done a great job on their post processing, mine does not add much, but I love doing it. Hope that is ok.

IMHO, this one is a keeper. Part of this charming redheads beauty is in her freckles, of which there remains just a hint in this one.

By all means, let this beautiful lady keep her freckles.
