My first serious attempt at using Portrait Professional 9. After using the PP-9 application, I transferred it over to Photoshop Elements to put in on the white background. So, your opinions please. Too much "correction", or about right? You will not hurt my feelings as I want to hone this skill and was advised you can easily over-correct with Portrait Professional.

Wow! There's so many good ones! I had to take a stab at it with what I have which is TouchFlow by Kevin Focht and also using some CS5...

Mary P - nice job. I especially like what you did with the hair. I am not familiar with TouchFlow. Is it, like Portrait Pro, limited to faces? I assume so since you also used CS5. Thanks.

You did very good at reducing shine on her forhead. I couldn't get it out with PP without overdoing it. Good job!

Okay, here is remake numero uno (without the Photoshop background). Closer? Still a little much?

Let's see yours Val!

¡Creo el "numero uno" es lo mejor de todo!

 Sorry! After seeing your numero uno I couldn't resist. As I said above, I honestly believe your second attempt was better than any the rest of us did (as of this writing, at least). That is one of the finest Portrait Pro renderings I've seen. They just keep getting better!

You can do it all in Photoshop, but Portrait Pro is just a lot easier and faster. And a MUCH shorter learning curve!

I use photoshop for my skin smoothing, but my normal subjects are 8 and 10.. not much work there, the 15 year old boy... oh boy that can get a little tricky.

Well, Portrait Pro isn't too expensive, so I'd go for it. I know you'll like it!!

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I saw this and seen that everyone was trying an edit on it. I hope you don't mind me doing so as well. I like to use "digital backgrounds" in PS CS5. Let me know what you think! Thanks.

That looks very nice!! I DO like the background! Is this a mask function? I don't know if it's in CS4 or not, but I like it. How did you retouch the face?

Thank you!
I know the backgrounds will work with all of PS's but as far as the rest it was give or take. I used about 5 layers total. but retouching the face was a background layer using G-blur, and then erasing the blur from the eyes, mouth, teeth and then dropping that blur layer down to about 35-40% flattened the image then used the glow tool to add the whiteness. at a very, very low setting. then I used the blending brush tool to lighten the reds on the cheeks and also to take away the harsh lighting on her face from the flash. The rest was give or take, I don't remember now what all I did, but it took in all about 30min. before I was okay with posting it back up in the post.
