UHH has a 10 picture limit per initial post ...

My thoughts...a different take on the subject. Over the last months I've posted a single photo perhaps 10 times. Each photo appeared only in the temporary, new post section and received positive comments. The photos all died there with less than 200 views. I questioned "administration " as to why my photos weren't included in the photo gallery and the answer was that they were...in another area of the UHH universe. (I still assume that to be untrue since those photos died with few views) Last week I posted 10 photos...and they were posted to the gallery without administration cancellation. I had decided that if Admin didn't post the 10 I would migrate to another forum but with the end result you all will have to put up with seeing my groups of 10 for a while longer.

Linda probably understands the nuances of The Ugly Hedgehog better than anyone.
One thing to keep in mind is that if you post in the Photo Gallery at a time when a lot of people are posting, your post could be on page two very quickly. What keeps it moving to the front page are other people commenting on your post. People comment because they like an image, sometimes because they don't like a photo, and often because they have made friends on the site.
ADMIN moves images when they are posted in the wrong section.

There should not be 10 commandments, only one,....four tops.
Photography has no rules, no commandments. It is the number 'likes' and 'views' that count, no matter how they are achieved.

That's probably true considering the number of people that ignore most of them.

Knowledgeable people talk less and right to the point.
People having problems with communication talk a lot (mostly: "You know") expecting that the other person knows, or guess, what they mean.
Photography is a way to communicate through images.

You are misunderstanding how UHH works.
The emailed daily
digest is just that - a sampling of topics. You'll note that Photo Gallery has 35 spots in that email. However, if you use "newest topics" link at top of any UHH page to do your browsing, you'll find that Photo Gallery sees between 50 and 100 new topics every single day. In the "alternate universe" of the full Photo Gallery, each time a topic gets a response, the topic is bumped to top of page.
This is Photo Gallery:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-5-1.htmlAny topic you've posted there is still there, among thousands of others.
"Upcoming topics" in the emailed digest consists of links to random new topics and changes frequently within a 24-hour period. It has nothing to do with thread popularity (number of views or comments).
One more note: the digest excludes forums to which you're not subscribed. At the bottom of this page you'll find the link to "all sections." See how many there really are?

UHH continues to hold my attention long after I've abandoned Twitter and Facebook.
Speaking just for myself, I prefer to see posts with a series of photos that represent a work session to numerous posts of one or two photos. The former can provide information on photographer thought process and style, the latter often just takes up screen space.
This advice works the same for Light Room. Only show the best photos. Over time you will start to delete the 2nd, 3rd and so on pics anyway. It's like watching commercials. I Don't mind them but to see the same ones over and over and over and sometimes back to back makes you want to shut off the tv.
I am one who frequently breasts and sometimes breaks the 10 picture limit. I try to limit my photos to ones that are of good quality, but occasionally there is an image I wish to convey that is not so good, but in the interest of giving a better idea of the location needs to be there. I don't post to advertise my photos, but to illustrate a location, and I use the best images I have to do that. Many UHHers seem to enjoy my posts, so I expect to continue. Feel free to castigate me any time.

It's like saying "I'm sorry" or "I love you" too many times--it begins to sound disingenuous. A variety of photos showing different subjects is one thing, but just different takes on one subject or scene becomes tedious. I should know, because I'm sure I've been guilty of this.
