Nothing wrong with the D610. I do not use mine for wildlife photography because of the advantages we have using DX cameras.
For street photography mirrorless are hard to beat.

I need a second camera body and my decision is around Nikon D610 , big screen , light weight , I read very few comments on this camera that supersedees D600 .
I like to have some comments on it and I can choose an alternative too , used of course .
Your comments are welcome

IMHO, the D610 is now generations old, you would be better served by a good used D800 or D810.

Yep the D610 is underprice used. I would go for it at $500 range.

I would stay away from D600 and get D610 or D750. The oil on the sensor thing was a major issue. Nikon finally replaced mine with a D610 and I sold it because by then I bought a D750.

I've had a D610 for a couple of weeks and have no complaints even though I really wanted a D750.

MPB.com has one right now for $604 (exactly what I paid for one on eBay that was in mint condition). MPB rates it as excellent and the shutter count is a ridiculous 1779 clicks.

If you want it you'll have to act quick as they have been selling very quickly there. I had one picked out but had to wait a few days for the stimulus payment and someone grabbed it...so I had to go to eBay. Good luck.

Wow you should have just purchased it with PayPal credit (no interest for 6 months) and then paid it off when your sc came.

I had a D600 that was replaced with the 610 by Nikon. In the last few years I have replaced the 610 with a D500 and then an 850.
The newer bodys have better fps and higher iso's and lots of bells and whistles I am still learning about. But the 610 in good light is a perfectly fine camera. It is now my wife's camera while I carry or use the 500 and 850. If you find a 610 with a low shutter count, in your price range, by all means pick it up John R

I have a D610 that I picked-up in 2019. Great camera: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-618083-1.html

Yes, the 600 had issues. Haven't really heard of any issues with the 610. You might really like the 24MP sensor.

Having two bodies with similar control layouts will make your life easier. I sometimes have a tele on one shoulder and a W/A on the other. I use an OP/TECH double strap.

My 2nd FX body is a D610. I also have a D850. The reason the D610 is my 2nd body is that it was my first FX body. If I were buying new or used a second FX body, I would get a D750. As others have said, the auto focus is better on the D750. However, if you are doing studio work or static subjects (manual focus) you will be fine with the D610. I use two bodies at air shows, car race tracks and car shows. The rest of the time, just the D850.

If I were you, I would just pull the trigger on a D750 (NEW) as they are very inexpensive. You could even get a good deal on a refurbished model. Plus, you might want to get into a exc. cond. D810. There's a place here in WATERFORD, MICHIGAN and it is called Camera Exchange. They ship all over the globe and are very reasonable. They are an Authorized Nikon Dealer. I know that they could help you. Contact them and tell them that Nick .Z. sent you their way. They only deal with the best and are truthful about shutter counts and condition. Plus, they give a Warranty. I promise that they will bend over backwards to help you and they will negotiate pricing. They have a 100 mile inventory, yet they choose to stay small and will give you "The Old Village Touch". I was in there one day and they were shipping to Saudi Arabia and Dubai. At one time they owned one of the largest stores in the U.S.. It was called Camera Mart. I bought my very first Camera from them and that was 43yrs. ago. their Phone # is 248-623-8990.

A close friend that I walk about with our cameras has a D610 and when I take my D810. When we trade our shots to each other the ones taken on the D610 are every bit as good and frankly at times better. With today's 24mp and higher full-frame cameras the images are now more defined by the quality of the lens used than that of the microprocessor and sensor of the camera.
