2 days drive down, 2 days back, 2 days in the Park. Wanted to "Road Test" a D610 I picked-up for a song.
Nice! The Blue Ridge this time of year is remarkable. You've captured the scenery well!
Nice set, love number one.
A beautiful series. I love the first one. I've stood in that spot several times. I consider the Smoky's God's country.
I was not very lucky when I visited the Park. It was cloudy-dark and it poured for most of the day I was there. Since it was so humid and there was not lots of color except for Caves Cove and around Clingmans Dome I decided to head for home. I have been several times in the Smokies but this was the first time the weather conditions were not cooperating, not meaning excellent shots can be obtained under those conditions but not when it comes to foliage.
I had my D610 with me, a very nice camera so judging from your excellent shots I reckon that you are satisfied with the results. You should be.
All very good shots but my preference goes to No. 1.
Keep on singin’ that song! Lovely!

Thanks, Fred. It had been way too long since I made the trip.

And they are indeed. Just getting harder and harder to stand "in that spot" without being crowded. Thanks for looking.
Beautiful I'd say well worth the drive

I'm with you, Bill. On 3 of the 6 days of my trip it rained its a__ off. Driving on wet roads covered with slick leaves was never a favorite of mine.
I have to get used to the 610. It seems to have more of a hair trigger than my other Nikons. But comparing shots with it and my Df, I do think I'll keep it. Thanks for the compliment.
